and Kendrick Norton and RJ McIntosh are the most talented pair of defensive tackles Miami has signed in years.

Sorry DMoney, but I'm not seeing it with Norton, His play confirms a move to OG to me.

Um ...what?

Dude played great for a true freshmen . That's one position you normally don't play pups.

Zero chance he moves

This dude is a lunatic.
Losing Golden sent him over the edge.

Yup, porst after porst with the weirdest stuff. lol

I'm gonna need you to step back and look at what I've been saying.

Bring in a coach with a pedigree of success and not a coach that's been head coaching at a mid-conference college for a few years and has found decent success against the UCF's of the world. Bring in a coach that has had a winning pedigree in either the NFL or at the college level at some point. Narrow down the candidates and get rid of those who can't provide you with a guarantee that this team won't play Miami football again.

None of this bull with the Memphis's of the world. Bring in Butch, Pagano, or whoever else can match their pedigrees. National champions or bust.

so it took OP 5 years to understand Golden wasn't Miami material. lol... you guys are mad funny, I know you niiggaz trolling me..

Yep! The guy that took five years and was balls deep into Golden untill the Clemson game is now TELLING US how the next coach should and shouldn't be.

Excellent analysis D'Money your right on the money. Now I pray we don't hire Al Golden Jr. a//k/a Mario Cristobal. Cristobal would be a disaster here and unispiring for the fan base.

HUH? WHY WOULD UM hire a former HC with a big time LOSING record regardless of whatever staff he tried to hire??? What would he bring to the table? Former FIU coaches? Just because he played for the Canes at one time? Horrible choice. They will have a lot more WINNING candidates to consider this time around with the probation lifted.

Here are my thoughts on what the new Staff will look like. An expect Mario Cristobal to be named the head coach but he will told that he needs to hire two killer DC's and a helluva of support staff; all for a reasonable sum (due to having to pay Al Golden's buyout)

I agree with Dmoney on the fact Miami needs to build a solid very well coached defense, which is why I think he reaches out Dave Aranda from Wisconsin. Aranda recruits Florida for Wisconsin an in 2 years has made tremendous enroads into Florida High school recruting. Aranda is also the first one to tell you that he sometimes does make a misjudgement in dline player evaluation an he needs to get better, which is something Cristobal can help with. Aranda's defense bring pressure on almost every play.

HC= Cristobal ($1.5 Million)
DC/Assoc HC = Dave Aranda ($750K)
LB Coach = Scott McCurley (Currently the Green Bay Packers asst LB Coach)($225K)
DL = Kevin Patrick ($200K)
DB = Hurley Brown (current Salary plus 10% retention bonus)

OC= Ken Dorsey (currently the Carolina Panthers QB Coach - has made Cam Newton into a Pro Style QB, which is a minor miracle)($500K)
WR =Kevin Beard (current Salary plus 15% retention bonus)
OL = Art Kehoe (yes he stays and between him and Mario they can fix the Oline performance problem overnight)(current Salary)
TE/Assoc HC = Larry Scott (current Salary plus 25% retention bonus)
RB = Ice Harris ( he stays because he can learn a lot from Ken Dorsey)(current Salary plus 15% retention bonus)

This is not a **** staff but they are a high quality staff with strong Miami ties and a lot of NFL experience that will translate into results quickly. An most importantly it is a staff Miami can afford. Both Coordinators would bring a tremendous amount of X's and O's knowledge an proven ability to implement that knowledge. Cristobal would just need to be a good CEO an set the direction of the program then step out of the way using what he learned under Nick Saban these last 2 years.

Go Canes

Spot on! 👏🏽 I'm ready for this new era the next coach needs to bring back the swagger and restart THE U!

Just so everyone can get on with reality, no candidate we are looking at will take much less than $3M. Most likely we are looking at a deal between $4-5 depending on the candidates. Herman and Fuentes are not coming for less than say $3.5M. Guys with more experience would be higher.

AND IF IT TAKES $5M to lock up Herman, will we do it?

One thing about Golden that I can't comprehend.
Is his inability or unwillingness to learn from his failures.
Mistakes happen and things don't work...that's life BUT if he really analyzed everything as claimed he did he would have made changes.
I have nerver seen anybody so unwilling to learn from mistakes.

That shows the core of Al's problem, his pride. To learn from one's mistakes you need to see YOUR mistakes not everyone else's. You must admit YOU failed not WE. If you know any extremely prideful people, they never apologies because they are never wrong. They never change because they are perfect already. Al never considered anything he believed to be wrong.

DMoney pegged it. We need a coach who understands Miami players not a genetic engineer seeking to change our DNA. Al was your basic slow white kid with limited talent but a lot of heart and work ethic. Those are the players, not necessarily white, who Al wanted. He saw them defend Miami in that horrible lost to PSU. That defense was Al's defense. It has actually beaten THE U occasionally. It is a defense you use when you have limited talent, not much speed and plenty of brainy type players. If you have speed in abundance only a idiot would use it -- Al was our idiot. Howard, JJ, Butch all knew how to use Miami players. They worked them hard to improve them but not to remake them into something they were not. We have the fastest, most aggressive high school players in the country. We have a proven formula to win with them. We don't need no stinking read and defense or no new form of option, tempo, spread. We need Cane football.

Yep! He tried to turn UM into Pennstate.
It's funny UM actually tried to hire Joe Paterno back in the day.
I remember an interview with Joe Patterno and Joe saying that he was tempted to take the job so he could "clean things up down there"
I guess Al was just trying to do what Joe wanted to do with Miami.

It's just you.

There are much better candidates this cycle.

Maybe so, but I still think Miami requires a different type of coach. Can't stomach another hiring of a non-major college coach who has to compete with Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolina schools to get players. There's nothing like recruiting Florida.

The same UF school you're afraid of trying to compete against with Group of 5 HC (Fuente or Herman) just hired its HC from the Mountain West Conference.

Exactly . People want Urban after UF and Saban after Lsu .Not while they're at Bowling Green and Toledo.

They want a sure thing but those guys cost 5-6 million a year.

Fuente is a star in the making , same guys will be wanting him once he takes another job and balls out.
They went to Utah and Michigan state before UF and LSU

When Utah was in the Mountain West or whatever that conference was. They weren't a Pac12 team when Urban was there.

How about we just start throwing in guys like Bryan Harsin, Doc Holliday, and Matt Campbell if we're gonna throw in Fuente and the gang? Since y'all just love to bring up guys from mid-conference schools, there ya go.

I would be happy with Matt Campbell.

Utah is now a Pac12 team because they hired Urban.
