Firing Golden mid-stream seems like a tremendous risk, but Blake should be doing everything he can to tee up Mario Cristobal for this job. Three years at the seat of the master in Alabama, deep ties to the U, and a ferocious recruiter, he is the obvious choice to molify the fan base, turn the program around, and keep what look to be outstanding recruiting classes in '16 and '17 together.

Coley and D'Onofrio obviously need to be shown the door, as well. How the offense scored 3 points in the second half against that defense is inexplicable. And the third down woes are solely on Coley. Line Trayone Grey up behind a full back on short yardage. Enough of this spread, read option with a QB who, while he is a budding star, is NO THREAT to run the ball. Go for it on 4th and 1 at mid-field. Where is the killer instinct? Where is the fire?

D'onofrio is an NFL coach, with an NFL system. How is it that we hear all spring and summer how explosive, and deep the DL is, and then watch a freshman QB, making his first start, pick the D apart from a clean pocket. I don't recall a single play last night when the front four generated even moderate pressure. If the system is read-and-react, talent is being wasted. There is no doubt that every highly-ranked DL the Canes recruit is being told by rivals that it would be stupid to come to Miami because their talent will be wasted, their potential unrealized. Anthony Chickallo is on an NFL roster after being absolutely neutered at Miami. Switch to a 4-3, let the DEs pin their ears back, and reek havoc.

Regarding Dallas Crawford, no one who watched last nights game can aruge he should remain in the rotation. He was lost, both in coverage and in locating the ball. He is a liability. Carter, Bush, Jenkins, and Johnson are a solid group.

As for FSU, assuming Grace is healthy, the defense will be at full-strength, and should be able to compete with what has been a surprisingly mediocre FSU offense. I just hope FSU beats Clemson, and doesn't come into the game with something to prove against their in-state rival. If FSU comes into the Miami undefeated, I could certainly see them overlooking Miami. That would be a very good thing.

Yeah, let's hire a coach who was fired by FIU to take over our program.

And being the OL coach for Alabama doesn't impress me. I'm sure Golden could be a perfectly fine TE coach under Saban, too - doesn't mean he's HC material.

Hiring Mario to replace Golden will put this program back another decade.

i keep sayin this isnt miami caliber players, we get the rest while fsu bama lsu n uf get the best. bring butch back godammit

fkin ****es me off, y doesnt the university just come out and say we want to suk ill b coo with that. just stop lying to da fans already that u wanna compete.

these dudes dont understand its saban not mario lol, just like butch whoever under him will look good

I was THIS close to posting something in one of the threads that asked what would it take for Golden to get off your bad side...Some of the posters in there were saying even if he led us to the MNC they would want him gone and I almost lost it! But now I know why and im glad I didnt type the post.

Last night was just embarassing if anything. You touched on alot of great points.

How the **** does a Cincy Dline look better then ours?
How the **** do we not use the TE more when its a CLEAR advantage for us?
Why the **** do we keep recruiting big, tall, but slow WRs TRYING to find the next Kelvin Benjamin but we end up with Greg Carr?
Why the **** is Alex Gall even playing anymore? (The FSU Dline is going to embarass him to the point where he might quit football after the game)
What the **** is wrong with KC to where he cant even get playing time?
WHY THE **** IS DALLAS CRAWFORD STILL GETTING PLAYING TIME?

I agree that we will play an inspired game against FSU for 3 quarters based solely off adrenaline and its a rivalry game. But when the 4th qtr rolls around and all that "rah rah" **** wears off, we will collapse just like last year.

Time to close up shop and start throwing out feelers...The Golden Era ended last night. And I think he knows it.

He knew it was over Jassid when he couldn't get that penn state job and they hired Franklin.

LOL at Folden going up against the worst defense in FCS and trying to run the clock out all night. He had to waste timeouts because he was trying to bleed the playclock down to 3 seconds every snap.

You know you're a pathetic loser when you take Miami talent and go scared against a bad Cincinnati team. Fcking dumb pig-faced loser scared of Cincinnati going four corners stall all night. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about that loser and his "don't make a play" loser mentality nothing will.

It was funny how Golden dropped the hammer on the clock after our special teams puked and the defense got chewed up. After our second drive dude was milking the clock trying to protect his defense. As D Money mentioned this is nothing new. It's been going on since day one. I still can't forget how he milked the clock at Doak in '11.

This has been an excellent thread starting with Dmoney's fine assessment of the state we are in. Jimmy Johnson realized that with team speed you enlarge the field on offense and narrow it on defense.Dictate to the opposing team with your speed and make them react to you. Golden never dictates. Golden's concepts are space and size oriented. This may be the slowest team we have had in years. We lack any deception on offense. When you lack deception and aren't very powerful or fast no good qb will make up for it. Its why we are such a bad 3rd down team.
Butch Davis understands about speed he was a disciple of JJ and he knows how to use S Fla athletes in a defense too. He would give us instant cred in South Fla with recruits.

"D'onofrio is an NFL coach, with an NFL system." WHAT!!!!!

Are you insane!!

PS- Randy Shannon spent a year at TCU...I guess we should hire him back since he spent a year with Gary Patterson.

You sir are a crazy person.

Field goals get you beat plain and simple... We kicked 6 of them and made 4. We left 28 points off the board because of golden thinking it's okay to settle for those....

Well , I'll take a look at it, but I think we've got some **** poor coaching.

Mario is like a football recruiting savant. Among the best in that area but terrible in everything else.

Mario would be like hiring another Golden. Will never happen.

He'll be worst. If he would have stayed here Miami would have been a perennial 4 win team. He and Al would have clashed. He had a better eye for talent but just couldn't coach and Al has a bizarre philosophy regarding recruiting.

I feel like I'm going crazy wondering what the **** this staff is doing with Stacy Coley. I swear to God this staff hates him. There is no other explanation. He's better than Waters, Brady, and all but maybe Scott.

He can't stay healthy. Not much they can do about that.
