Pisarcik was only the QB trying to execute (to an aging Larry Csonka) the handoff. John McVay was the Giants Head Coach presiding over that debacle. Yeah Sean McVay's grandfather. Kid in NY at the time and we let the Giant fan's in Junior High have it that Monday.

Maybe Cristobal's Grandson will be better too.

You can blame Don Chaney all you want for this stunning loss tonight to Georgia Tech. The reality is that he never should've been put in that position that eventually lead to this this stunning 23-20 defeat at Hard Rock Stadium.

There are a lot facets to this game that can be dissected. From Tyler Van Dyke doing his best Vinny Testaverde-in-the-Fiesta Bowl impersonation, to the usual dubious officiating, to Kam Kinchens jumping a route needlessly on the game winning touchdown to Christian Leary with just seconds left on the clock.

This is on Mario Cristobal and the rest of the staff. This is on them, first and foremost

The game -- which was a struggle from the very beginning -- was basically in hand. Miami had rallied to take a 20-17 lead in the fourth quarter, had the ball, and churned out a couple of first downs in the final minutes. And with under a half-minute to go, the Yellow Jackets had no timeouts left. At that point in time there was no need to do anything other than get into 'victory' formation and take knees.

It's among the safest, simplest and most effective plays in the game.

For some reason, the decision was made to go into shotgun and hand the ball off. You do that, and you are 5-0.

There's no other way to say it -- it's among the dumbest and illogical coaching decisions I've ever seen. It's the kind that sucks the soul out of a team. The Hurricanes are 4-1, but this feels like more than just a singular loss. This is exactly the type of foible that Oregon fans have been harping on. That for all the great things Cristobal does in leading and building a program, his game management was subpar, and would inevitably lose a game or two every season.

How can we argue at this point?

No, I am certainly not calling for anybody to be fired, but on a night that was supposed to be another momentum building night in front of a host of blue-chip recruits in a prime time setting, this opportunity was... fumbled away.

Now, they go into Chapel Hill to face a North Carolina Tar Heel squad that seems to be putting things together, and then a still tough and physical Clemson squad. What had been such a fun, promising season, now, feels so much different. Like nothing has truly changed. It leaves you wondering just how the team will react moving forward.

What took place tonight, actually feels worse than last year's 5-7. I want to make this clear, I'm a Cristobal supporter (still am, even after tonight). But what took place tonight is indefensible.

This is on him.
Well said. 100% on point.

Completely agree.

"a night that was supposed to be another momentum building night in front of a host of blue-chip recruits in a prime time setting, this opportunity was... fumbled away."

This feels like it was squandered regardless of the outcome of the game.

The HC, Coaching Staff, Players, Fan Base, or All The Above?

We need to be specific here.
Man right now me for buying in to ****. Last year didn't really care but I had hope this year. I feel like Clint Barton from End Game.

We won’t recover from this. We will lose 4 more minimum. 7-5. Also now the crowd will suck at every game cause this fanbase doesn’t put up with anything. Very fickle
Crowd was leaving with 2mins left and we're up by 3

Are we sure Dawson is still calling of vanilla offense? Is he going to open the playbook next week? Or versus Clemson? Or at FSU?

After tonight’s performance I think we run a vanilla offense because we have a vanilla quarterback. TVD had all day the pocket and still forced the ball into his first read many times. Usually reliable Restrepo.

A ridiculous night.

Sadly, predictable?
Tyler is like Brock Berlin…he locks in on one receiver and force feeds. The stat line proves it…he’s locked on Xavier about 80% of the time. Halfway through the fourth quarter Xavier had 11 receptions and no other receiver had more than 3.

i don't even know how it's possible to still be a cristobal supporter after tonight. and i was someone who had been staying pretty even keeled and patient even through last year. this is a program-altering way to lose a game. it wasn't "basically" in hand- IT WAS IN HAND. you kneel and you win. it's the worst coaching blunder i've ever seen in my life, no hyperbole. it doesn't feel worth it to follow a team led by someone even capable of that.

I always said I'll be a Cristobal supporter as long as he lands TOP 5 CLASSES.

Y'all called me a mope for it. Sent me to 6 months of purgatory for it. I stand behind it. Top 5 classes have to be the bar for Mario because recruiting is his calling card. In case it isn't obvious by now, Mario NEEDS to have a massive talent advantage to win games.

So NIL people, pay the **** suck tax. We suck, pay the tax. If getting this program back to what it should be matters at all, pony the **** up and let's buy a top 5 class because the whole "win and they'll come" thing is a nonstarter now.

Terrible, terrible loss!! No way around it. I can’t emphasize how bad of a loss this is. Unfortunately, ACC (Another Crappy Call) officials, Mario, OC, TVD, Chaney, and Kam all played a role in it. More so the HC and the OC. Be as it may, we can either sink or swim moving forward. As gut wrenching a loss this is, there’s still more to play for. If this team understands that and learns from this, we’ll be okay. If we digress back to the more recent UM teams of letting 1 loss lead to 3-4 more than its same ol same ol. Eager to see how we respond next week. Tough hill to climb but it’s surmountable. GO CANES!!

Not defending the play call — it is indefensible and is the reason that we lost, period. You don’t leave yourself at the mercy of the officials. Most boneheaded thing I’ve seen in football.

But video replay review is there for a reason. These morons had enough to overturn Colby’s TD and not enough to get the call right there? The indefensibly stupid play call should not have impacted the outcome because the officials are supposed to get it right during review and there’s no explanation for why they didn’t. Chaney obviously was down. The elbow was down before the strip even started. The video is very clear.

Again, not defending the staff for that boneheaded play call. The loss is squarely on them. But what’s the point of review if it doesn’t work when the evidence is clear?

Never seen such incompetence in my life. Not just football. Staggering and mind numbing. He said they “had a chance to close out the game.” The f’ing game was closed out.

Yea the knee thing outweighs everything and it should. A lot of other things cost us that out of his control that put us there. That TD and fumble call kill me. And when I saw the ref pull out a flag (forgot when in the game) and place it back in his pocket cause Miami fans were about to boo him I knew these refs were some of the worst I have ever seen. He was right to put the flag back but bruh they were dreadful
