So we went from everyone crying about our coaching staff to now everyone wanting to suck them off???

Typical UM fan

Even better...how about our fellow fans calling for Richt's immediate dismissal if an opposing offense ever passes the 50yd line...total failure...what a cortch...can't coach..can't recruit...see Saban is coming here...

Goodness....

Don't be surprised if it takes longer than a couple of years to get to the playoffs. The "virus" may take a few rounds of penicillin.

It's going to take you longer than usual if you're trying to fight a virus with an antibiotic.

Not doubting you but can you elaborate on what you mean when you say HS coaches didn't take Golden's staff seriously?

Thanks Doc.

Go Canes!
Antiviral Samson viruses don't respond to antibiotics because when you get a virus it technically live in your cells

Not technically correct, antibiotics are manufactured only to fight against bacterial products such as cell wall, DNA synthesis, ect.

It seems last staff wanted more than anything to be "good guys" to the players. Those con artists brainwashed these kids into thinking they were great football minds. I think that's why when Golden would throw the players under the bus they would just take it.

The staff Richt assembled seems to be full of killers. Guys who will do whatever it takes to win. It's sad all they had to see was one practice to know how soft a team we were. Richt is still hungry. He wants that ring and as long as he brings that attitude it looks promising he'll position himself for it.

Any idea what the Spring game will be like? The abortion of a format under the old staff is hopefully gone with them.

Sounds a lot like the transformation to the Butch staff. These guys want success and know what's on the line. Don't be surprised if it takes longer than a couple of years to get to the playoffs. The "virus" may take a few rounds of penicillin. We'll probably see a couple of first rounders before we see a 'ship. Just my$0.02.

Go Canes!

Bro, you don't treat viruses with Penicillin or other antibiotics but carry on.

Yes, I agree our depth is not at championship level and it will take another year to be close for a run. But, I don't see an ACC championship game appearance out of the picture either.

I don't think Pete wrote this much in the last year with the old Coaching Staff. It's great that he's writing about the team again, and it makes the off season go by a little quicker.

**The most frequently asked question from fans this spring seems to be something along the lines of “what is the biggest difference between this staff and the Golden staff?” Well, the answer is there are a ton of differences. First, I will say that from a recruiting standpoint, high school coaches truly respect this staff. When Golden was here, a majority of HS coaches did not take the staff seriously, quite frankly.

**Sources have noted to me that the tempo of practice is the first thing that you notice. These coaches are trying to maximize reps. Another thing that really stands out is the intensity of this staff.

**Tight Ends coach Todd Hartley and Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz are two of the more vocal guys on staff. Hartley seems to be more of a positive, upbeat personality, while Diaz is really digging into the players when they do anything that is not being taught, such as run around blocks. Diaz is actually out there in cleats if that gives you an idea of his style of coaching.

**OL coach Stacy Searels is “out of his mind” (in a good way) and seems to be a drill sergeant at times. He is a big proponent of body language. Kc McDermott, Bar Milo, Danny Isidora (as mentioned in post-practice comments today), and Tyree St. Louis all seem like they have made big strides in the offseason. I’ve heard from a few different people that Milo’s redshirt year has been a major blessing for him. He took it seriously and it is showing. He can play. This group seems improved, but there is still work to be done. Miami needs one or two from the group of Jahair Jones, Hayden Mahoney, Alex Gall, and Loftus to take the next step in order for this group to keep Kaaya protected.

**I’m told that after one of the first practices, Richt absolutely ripped into the team “harder than Golden ever did”. He told the team they were playing “soft” and that he refused to coach a team like that. Not exactly breaking news, but that is nice to hear if you are a Canes fan.

**Safeties coach Ephraim Banda is another guy who falls into the “high energy” category. He is not afraid to let loose out there. I’ve mentioned previously that he is also emerging as a star on the recruiting trail.

**David Njoku looks even better, which is what you would expect from a guy showed flashes last season and is such a physical specimen. His weight is up and he has retained the burst that makes him such a special talent.

**The defense “dominated” today’s practice from what I was told, which shouldn’t be a surprise because that normally tends to be the case in practice settings. They showed a lot of under front today against 21 personnel offensively.

**They are rotating the linebackers a lot right now. Jamie Gordinier is another player who really made use of his redshirt year wisely, as he put on a lot of good weght. Mike Pinckney is physical. He has a chance to play a lot early on.

**A concern heading into the spring was lack of depth and defensive back and that is showing at times. This team definitely needs an infusion of talent back there.

**Early enrollee Patrick Bethel looks the part.

Diaz coaching in cleats. Priceless.

He did that in his days at Texas, too. Don't get too excited.

I was just about ready to crown him the GOAT DC based solely off him wearing cleats until you put your dyck in my Cheerios.

Don't worry as long as I didn't get my pubes in your milk that sh:t should taste delicious.

I'm a little disappointed that your pubes aren't tasty.

Can we take a moment and embrace the hilarity of Al Golden moving Njoku to LB? It's mind blowing how stupid that guy is.

Al Golden is defintely stupid but to be honest Njoku is such a freak athlete he'd probably be a nasty LB too
