His uncle lives in my building. He told me he's committed to UF but he'll end up going to Miami. Seemed legit to me.

The meltdown if Cook signs with FSU on this board will be a mess.

Why? Meltdowns happen when a lot of people are confident someone will come, and then he doesn't, leading to much disappointment. Pete seems to be indicating that FSU may well lead at this point. A number of other people seem to think that also. Cook's remarks have been deliberately uninformative. I hope we get him, but I am not counting on it.

There SHOULD be a giant meltdown because UM SHOULD be expected to pull a guy like Cook from our own backyard. Way too many factors in our favor to just casually slough off losing him to a hated rival. UM fans need to get their expectations up.

name a city that produces as many big time prospects as miami and the school closest lands them all

I don't know what that means. But if you guys are happy losing Phony and Dalvin (arguably the top 2 RBs in the country) with one of them going to our biggest rival, then don't complain when we keep getting our asses kicked on the field.

You dudes who keep saying "you can't get em all" and "you can't force him to stay here" don't get it. You don't have to "get em all", but you **** sure need to get the best ones in your backyard especially when so many factors are in your favor. Dalvin is a program changer, and if he goes to fsu, it's going to be crushing crushing news.

i agree with this but you have to admit the cook recruitment has not been normal. if you would have told me all the factors in our favor on this one i would have told you slam dunk. but yet the only consideration we have received is towards the end of the process. he has already been committed to two places, one our hated upstate rival. people suggest something is amiss here. i don't pretend to know about these things but something is strange here.

I don't know what's amiss. If people are going to excuse away losing these guys based on the "he's getting paid" theory, then they'll need to support that with some hard info.

Chise,

Where is Jaimeis Winston from? Bama? Did Bama offer him? Did Saban lose him to Jimbo?

Is it inexcusable to either lose out on the best player in the nation in your own backyard or worse, not make him a priority?

maybe he flat out doesn't like what he sees at miami. it has to have been something like that to cause him to look so hard at others for the past year or so.

Yes, he's from Bama, and wanted to leave. Not much Saban could've done.

When you win 3 NCs in 4 years you can afford to lose a Winston or even not make him a priority when you can't even win the coastal in year 3 you can't afford to lose a Cook.
