Recruiting Notes

**The Tim Irvin roller coaster ride continues, but things seem to be slowly turning back into Miami’s favor. The Canes have always valued Irvin as a prospect, but Paul Williams’ recent trip to watch him play really blew him away. UF has fallen off somewhat, which is a product of their disappointing season according to a source close to Irvin. Texas is the dark horse here because Irvin is a big fan of Charlie Strong, but it would take a lot to get him to leave South Florida right now. No timetable for his decision.

**Coaches are more than pleased with the progress of Demetrius Jackson. I’m told that Jackson has been the exemplary redshirt and taken the opportunity very seriously. Not only has he been adding great weight, but also his understanding of the game has improved leaps and bounds from the moment he stepped on campus. The word “monster” was used to describe his recent performances in practice.

- Like I told y'all folk WEEKS ago. There is a TON of time remaining in the recruiting cycle. NONE of the dudes who were have said to "sour" on the Canes are out of play. There's too much time and young minds are too difficult to get a clear read on. I've honestly always felt like Irvin would end up in Miami regardless of what has been said. UF sucks and I doubt he wants to go to Texas. He's signed, sealed, and delivered with a solid close to the season.

- I'm so hype about the potential of a Kirby, Grace, Owens, Muhammad, McCord, and Jackson linebacking core next year, that I have no idea what to do with myself. Owens and Grace are well on their way to being studs. Kirby has suddenly become a solid linebacker. McCord, Muhammad, and Jackson should give us edge rushing that we haven't had since Vernon, Bailey, and Ojomo. Jackson should be a terror coming off the edge, if not by next year, then certainly by his RS-SO year. I fully expect that he will expedite that process though. Dude is a freak athletically and if he's got it upstairs like they say he does, sky is the freakin limit.

Calloway is TY Hilton 2.0 imo. finna be raining TDs the next few years.

Jerzey don't forget Mike Smith Bruh! Mike Smith is going to be that deal!!!

are we recruiting any dt's? redshirting moore and jelani isn't gonna matter. i think jerkins, huertelou, and moten will be tough next year tho.

We'll be fine there next year, but the concern is 2016 when we lose Hurt and Wyche.

We heard the same rumblings with UF and Jaquan Johnson. Not sure why so many people seemed to give up on Tim Irvin so quickly.

Wyche will blow up next season once he goes through conditioning. He's too big to be getting pancaked or blown off the ball. I expect at the very least for him to just not get moved. He doesn't have to do anything else but not get moved off the LOS. Now if he does more than that like collapsing the pocket and stopping the run then he'll get drafted. He's too **** big and gifted to be a waste. Every time I think of 350lb DT's I think of Haloti size wise not skill wise. I want DT's over 300lbs and DE's that are 225-290.

That's why we need DTs this cycle--to keep building depth.

Can't skip a year without elite dts, not getting my hopes up on that side of the ball.

You're concerned about losing a guy that has hardly played and is vastly out of shape (Wyche). You should be more concerned that we recruit and develop DT terribly.

Yup this, not impressed wither he from what I've seen but they ask him to play patty cake so his future may be better off in the nfl if he gets there.

If we could only get a pro driver for this Cane Machine. Uncle Al drives below the speed limit.
