Darling was plug n play as well..so what are you saying?

Realize we have some big time RECRUITS on this current oline that look like sh*t.

What's your assessment of the OL?

Is it talent? S&C? Coaching? All of the above?

I rewatched the ND game, and McDermott and Linder were constantly getting walked back into the RBs lap. Is it poor pad level? Poor strength? Both? What gives?

Pete, I know you're supposed to be impartial when talking to these kids, but, as someone who had the misfortune of working in and visiting Tuscalloosa and Alabama, I'd find it hard to keep from openly laughing at a kid who told me he was going to spend his college years in that dump, getting overly bulked up on deer antler spray and suppliments, and chasing mostly sub-par tail in the bars on the strip.

I mean, I know these are just kids, but the follower instinct lots of them have is quite sad, regardless of how they are promised to be 'looked after' when they are in T-town.

Agree with everything except the subpar tail comment. Thats UF. Alabama has some badddddd women

IMO Alabama is like your typical SEC school, tail wise. Has a couple 'hot girl' sororities, after that it falls off pretty fast. We're taking about a state with one of the countries highest obesity rates.

You compare Bama with an Arizona State, FSU, USC, etc, it isn't even close.

What people don't realize about the Alabama schools that have never had the misfortune to work or live here is, while the majority of the state are Bama 'fans', Tuscaloosa itself is kinda crappy. Auburn is, at least, a nice college town.

A talented kid can get to the NFL playing at any school. The fact that so many choose Alabama is just a sad example of empty promises and a follower mentality. They think that Alabama is a special program for the wrong reasons. It's special only because of the amount of resources it has, and its obsessive, large, nutty fanbase (not always a positive).

And yes, their recent success is quite special in of itself, but kids don't even look at that the right way. IMO, winning at Alabama on Saban's plantation surrounded by other 5-stars isn't really special if you have to live in Tuscaloosa for 3 years to do it.

Kids are always going to pick schools for different, sometimes silly reasons, but the whole top-Florida players to the hinterlands of Alabama thing has become almost comic at this point. If I were Pete, and Jobe or Pope told me that they had Bama #1 , I'd laugh at them.

Look at this board, how people react to others and how they react to a game. Now look at Twitter. How are the kids acting? Now you are telling me that with all these kids in their feelings, they aren't going to snitch when they leave? Come on man. The vast majority of players are not getting paid. If we have to be the 2001 version of the Canes to win we won't. Nana has a stranglehold on cfb now. These things run in cycles. There is enough talent to win and win big at Miami. There are plenty of schools that do more with less. Until we get the elite talent we will need to develop and do more with less.

Please understand that we all know that not every kid from down here gets bought when they go elsewhere.

We are talking about the ELITE south FL kids like Patrick Peterson, Dalvin Cook, Calvin Ridley, Jerry Juedy etc..

If you don't think those guys didn't get bought, then you don't know **** about recruiting.

I'm not saying they got bought b/c they didn't go to Miami either.

If you followed their recruitment, you would be blind not to see many of the red flags in each situation.

2011 Ole MIss went 2-10
2012 Ole miss went 7-6
2013 Ole Miss went 8-5

Ole Miss Recruiting class for 2013 is legendary for pulling in Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil, and Laquan Tredwell, none from the state of Mississippi, all rated the best player at their position...but we still got people talking about "elite players aren't being recruited by money, they are being recruited by wins". $EC is alive and well.

they have like 3 players from south florida and ou muhfukkas are crying. We need to worry about FSU/UF more than them. Mario is a bum coach..solid recruiter..but he wouldn't make a difference here at all. were loaded with recruiters...we need product on the field.

Win and S.fla will come...ITS THAT SIMPLE..i coach optimist football, and work with parents of a few s.fla recruits that are mentioned a lot on here...believe me just win. The Canes are the show in S.fla. Weve looked like sh*t for the last decade.

Agreed. Mario looks good as an O-line coach when they get 5-star linemen across the board. Give me a technician at the line coaches over a recruiter.

No way give me the recruiter all day.....leatherwood is plug and play

Either our evaluations are bad or golden wieght gains fked them up its one or the other. How can we suck the with real coaching

What would Jordan Cronkrite provide us, every running back on our roster is better & every rb we're recruiting is better

You only take Cronkrite if he is willing to play Safety.

I like speed over size at WR (Brown, Harley)! If we can hold off bamer we can take leaps ahead. It's a must (Pope, Jobe)! We have no need for kronkite, more speed Richt (McFarland, Felix)! Wish we stop phucking around with Wilder and get the kid, again more speed at LB! I was ready to throw dirt on Auburn and they done turn things around. We can't keep feeding highly regarded talent to the Kracker conference schools. Miami was built on speed in a day! Speed will turn things around "faster" than more big tall supposedly physical average cats. Did I mention we need more speed everywhere!

Pass on Wilder IMO.

He doesn't have the instincts to play LB (lines up as a rush end and film is very unimpressive compared to others)

Yes I know he is a track athlete, but is barely 200 lbs and only runs a 4.7, don't know why people think he is fast.

I think some people just see the 4 stars next to his name and think he is a stud, but I would take 3star Ventrel Miller who we started to slow play then he committed to UF over Wilder any day.

Cronkite... don't want. Made your choice

He made that choice cause our previous staff messed up... they stop recruiting him.... kid was a die hard canes fan..but if they stop recruiting you and sont contact, what is he suppose to do??

Cristobal's results as a recruiter at Alabama are better than the current coaches at Miami because he's selling the Alabama pitch, not the Miami one.

Alabama's - Come join a dynasty on the most loaded roster in the country to play for the coach (Saban) with the second-most rings of all time where we're winning championships, pumping out first-round picks, and you're a king on the field in packed stadiums as well as off the field at a place where nothing matters but football.

Miami's - We haven't won s*** in over a decade and the gameday atmosphere for home games pales in comparison to other top programs aside from when we play FSU in Hard Rock Stadium every other year. But there's plenty of early playing time available and you'll still get to the league if you have the goods.

What part of that don't you understand? If Cristobal were to come here, it's not like the fence around South Florida would be closing. He wouldn't be making the Alabama pitch anymore.

These dudes think the answer is to just keep signing 4 and 5 star OL. We've got several of them on the roster right now, and everyone thinks they suck. Why do they assume the new 4 and 5 star OL will be better than the current guys who were the same highly-acclaimed guys when they were being recruited?

We gotta fix the offense and get a bad *** OC in here who can dedicate himself completely to designing and calling an offense. It's too **** much for Rix, and he's obviously overwhelmed.

How many personnel packages did we use against ND? I'll give you a clue. It's a very small number. We're too **** basic, and defenses are teeing off on us as a result. No one can block in this offense.

So right now the 2 best players in Dade for 2018 are both going to end up priorities for Alabama. This one is gonna hurt.

We have had battles with them for years both winning and losing, will be that way for awhile

Let's be real, we rarely beat them when they make a kid a major priority. Deon Bush was not a major priority for them. Neither was Chad Thomas. They would have taken both but they weren't Amari Cooper level recruits.

Richards is the only one I can think of. If we keep Jobe and Pope home we will know something has actually changed. But what has given you any confidence in that happening?

Apparently Cronkite is back with UF. We dodged a bullet there

This. The father of a walk-on player who starts at a school that beat us told me that was the game plan. Tee off, attack lead foot Kayaa, nothing complicated.
