**Yesterday, a tweet emerged saying Butch Davis was at the Biltmore having drinks with Jackson Health CEO Carlos Migoya. It is unsure what role Migoya has in the coaching search, but a source tells me that Migoya had lunch with Mario Cristobal today at Christy’s in the Gables. It is entirely possible that Migoya is serving as some sort of middleman in the process. Cristobal was in Miami today recruiting.

**Sources close to Cristobal indicate that he already has an idea of who he would include on his staff. James Coley would be retained most likely. Bama DB Coach Mel Tucker would be a frontrunner to become defensive coordinator. Marshall OL coach Alex Mirabal would replace Kehoe.

**Do not count out Cristobal on being part of Rob Chudzinski’s staff if Chud is the guy. Mario’s brother, Luis, was Chud’s roommate at Miami and the families are close.

**I can also confirm the reports that Charlie Strong does have interest in this job. Sources close to his agent Jimmy Sexton say that Strong may not be all that happy in Texas. Interestingly enough, Dennis Dodd wrote last week that power agent Jimmy Sexton would love to get one of his clients in this race. Scroll to the section on Mark Stoops –

How Coley was ever hired to call plays speaks to the incompetence we've had running this program for some time.

But possibly RETAINING him? I mean....there are no words to describe this situation.

I'd rather shut the ******* program that continue to see it managed this way.

What the f**k man. I'm so sick of the Cristobal nonsense. He sucks! 27-47 and fired from FIU gets you an interview at Miami? He shouldn't even be interviewed let alone hired. As for strong, I'm lukewarm to him. I think he's been exposed at Texas. He's an average coach and if you can't succeed with all that money and recruiting in Texas, why will he be successful here? Lame

Dont know much about Mel Tucker besides whats been said on here but ALA secondary hasnt been THAT bad. Minkah Fitzpatrick has been stud and Eddie Jackson has been **** good as well. So he is doing something right. Now does that mean I want him running my defense?

Lets just hope this is all rumor for now. I like the fact that Butch is lurking around though and letting it be known that he wants the job and if Mario wants to be on HIS staff he will welcome him with open arms.

They might bring in top classes for a year or two (a la Shannon and the MNW class) but eventually the recruiting will suffer when the on the field results are not there. Kids want to play for championships. They are not going to go to Miami simply because Mario and Coley have good relationships with their coaches.

People are freaking out because he said they talked to Cristobal right after it says they talked to BUTCH. Do you really think Cristobals interview would stack up next to the meeting with Butch?

They would land us one top 5 class. Just like Randy did, and Al did.

Then after they fielded horrible teams the first two years, their selling points would be dead in the water and South Florida would continue to be a sieve.

I seriously wonder if people ever learn from their mistakes in their day to day life? For FVCKS sake people.

A) he's actually being considered at all
B) We have the most incompetent set of decision makers in the country
