I understand the theory behind the tough guy approach with local recruits who spurn UM then want back in. I question the efficacy of it though, as no one outside of the diehards who read Pete's reports know that's what we're doing. The coaches can't speak publicly on recruits, and it's not Rick's style to talk about that sort of stuff anyway.

So, in reality, we have a policy that sounds good in theory but probably isn't all that meaningful in reality because no one knows about it.

I'm all for looking at this type of stuff on a case by case basis. If Grimes is good enough to help us win and wants to come here, then go get him.

That's the big question , with his knee .

Good thing nystateofmind isn't an FBS AD...holy **** man get it together.

iron sharpens iron, bring grimes in period...

Iron does sharpen iron, but when iron meets glass, glass shatters into a thousand little pieces and is hard as fvck to clean up.

But here's what I know: Grimes was a top prospect coming out of STA. Ran fast at the Opening. Tall with good size. And by all accounts, a very polished route runner. Then he tore his ACL early in his senior season and has spent the last year rehabbing the knee. He waited until near the very end of the recruiting process to pick O$U, and he hasn't been on O$U's travel team this year. Now it looks like he would like to come back home because of some personal/family issues.

Meanwhile, we pulled in Njoku/Harley/Thomas at WR in that class. Now we have two consensus studs committed in Hightower and Pope, along with an underrated Wiggins at WR.

It sounds to me like Richt would rather dance with the girl(s) he showed up with. And I can't say I disagree. Not just because of loyalty or respect for the value of a UM offer (though those are both great reasons). But also because, to continue the metaphor, Grimes showed up to the dance late and with some serious baggage.

Maybe Grimes fully recovers and becomes a great D1 WR, but I have no problem with this pass.

He picked osu in the summer

Guess him and Urbie didn't work out.

He’s played this year and had a few catches already . If he sits out he will bully healthy come spring time

Bring Grimes in and put a redshirt on him. Let the knee heal up 100% and bring him out of the kennel in 2019. That's how you stack chips. #ChessNotCheckers

Actually the concept you are preaching is very simple, you're actually playing checkers, not chess.

Have you actually seen him play or are you just slurping his star ranking?

Spot on.

Just a simple google search and you would have known Brock wasn't lying. No, it's nothing incredible, but it's not like he's walking around on crutches with a knee that will never be repaired. Ohio State Buckeyes 2017 Statistics - Team and Player Stats - College Football - ESPN

Already tired of this Grimes talk. Let's talk about actual Hurricanes and mother fn g-tech

Pride can't get in the way of building the program back up. If SoFL studs want to join us early or late, we have to be open-minded. We all make bad decisions. I'd take him or Jeudy back in a heartbeat.

I can't be the only one who loves the fact we are rejecting these transfers FROM miami who snubbed the Canes during the recruiting process? Holmes, Gibson, that RB that went to UiF, Grimes, and soon to be Tyler Bryd.

I’d start Malek and Delaney or Bandy at CB and JJ and Mike Jack @ Safety. Knowles looked lost on every play vs FSU

Knowles should be regulated to special team duties only. Give me Smith and Carter at Safety or MJ over this guy.

What's with the love affair of Grimes on this board?

The kid's knee is ****ed up & we got 3 studs coming in for 2018.

We don't even use all our WR's right now, so you think we're just going take Grimes on a bum knee & he's going to start over everybody else?

I would take him but it would be insanely naive and ridiculous for me to assume I know anything about the situation.

If Richt says thanks but no thanks, I definitely support that.

so we are down at least 4 starters for this game and you guys are focussed on travon grimes?? t
It's the only thing the matters...

If we don't get Grimes, shut down the ****** progrum.

Seems like a pretty grim update all in all, everybody who’s hurt ain’t playing and Grimes not comming

Lets stop talking about someone who didnt want to be here, and maybe still doesnt.

PLEASE
