Every year you see defences improve when the DC simplifies the playbook and simply lets the players read and react. They play faster.

I remember when Paul Johnson fired Al Groh (Al goldens coaching godfather)..he said, “Al’s defense on paper is impeccable. Nobody can draw up designs better than him. He’s a 3-4 guru. But Al can’t get our players to execute what he’s putting on paper and because of that his D scheme is useless.” I’m paraphrasing but that was the gist. That’s Guidry to me. I’ll bet on paper his D looks great to Mario..but the players can’t execute it so he’s gotta go.

This is one of the stick our heads in the sand problems.
Many of these children in HS just had to show up and play , in a power 5 CFB they are shocked that there not able to do this at major college level and by then it’s to late .
The only fix is the X way to train and study there game , but these children want no part of the conversion of the road less traveled they never experienced WORK they never had to.
Anyway they portal for every then declare NFL ready and become Bandy type travelers searching for everything they have up .
A sad cycle played because these children won’t listen they know everything at 17-18 years old .
Poor parents have to welcome them home to raise them all over again

He’s really tearing it up at Coarstal. More TDs and catches than jojo though.
It's crazy to me how ineffective we are at integrating speed into offense. Can't name a single player we've signed with speed that has been utilized. These guys are wasting their time at Miami. Sub 4.5 = go somewhere else.
It just continues to align with harder, not smarter. Everything seems way more difficult than it needs to be.
