Great write up Cam.

but no where on the OL is a "high profile" position lol. Even if us football purist know how important it is, the masses don't give a **** about OL.

/just being nitpicky, great job

5-star, prototypical LT's make headlines. In the recruiting world they do at least.

In a pool of football addicts you can bet **** well a star LT is "high profile" position.

The masses don't even think a defensive tackle is an important position.

McDermott's are to the offensive line as to the Gronkowski's are to TE/FB.

Clausen's are a bad example...they all sucked.

The Gronkowski's...KC would be your Rob (the best of the bunch)...Tyler would be your Dan (good player at Maryland...Shane would be your Chris (good player after he transferred to Arizona).

And FWIW, Jake Long started as a right tackle at Michigan. Played two seasons there before he bounces over to left tackle. Adam Stenavich was their left tackle during Long's first few seasons.

And we could have an opening at RT when SH leaves. I see Bunche staying as the swing T or moving inside to G after Linder graduates.

Great job Cam, can't wait to see more. Maybe J. Yearby next?

The word in the 561 is that the family loved everything about ND and rumor is that he will commit to the stinkin' Irish! Man, I hope not as this young man is a flat out stud....

Thanks for reading and commenting.

However, I disagree with your statement. LT is a high profile position. It's the blind side protector for 98% of QB's (with only a few LH players at that position). They are usually tasked with neutralizing the best pass rusher the opposing defense has, and also a key to opening holes or sealing the edge for outside runs.

Here's an example for you: Name the LT's who might be taken in the first 10 picks of this upcoming NFL draft. Name the other OL who might be taken IN THE FIRST ROUND AT ALL.

You'll find that, without stretching the bounds of reality, there are more players in the first group than the second.

In short, LT matters. A lot.

I've heard about 10 different rumors about McDermott's decision making process. All from people "in the know".

I'm just gonna wait to hear what Kc has to say himself about the matter.

Cameron, I just want to say great job and your insight lately has been missed, to say the least.

I love this series and can't wait for your break down of our qb.

Which brother does he love more?

MIGHT not have anything to do with his brothers.

In Jeff Greer's story on Kc in the Palm Beach Post, Kc says his Grandfather was a HUGE Notre Dame fan. The following quotes are Kc's words, as stated by Jeff Greer on Twitter (I condensed 3 tweets together):

"My grandpa was the world’s biggest #NotreDame fan. Every Sat he woke up & turned on NBC & that was the only station he’d watch. He was born in Chicago, an Irish Catholic. It was just Notre Dame all the way. To have him in the back of my mind, knowing that if I went (to #NotreDame) he’d be extremely proud and happy of me." - Kc McDermott

Do with that information what you will.

Thanks my friend.

We had Districts for Chorus and a bunch of other stuff at work, so I had to step away for a while. But now, I'm back in the game!

WATCH OUT, ARIZ!!!!!!

That's what he stated in a video interview on Scout. The way he lit up during that interview is why I think he's ND bound. Sometimes the loved ones that aren't here impact us more than the loved ones that are.

BEFORE YOU GUYS GET UP IN ARMS AND KILL ME FOR POSTING JEFF GREER'S TWEETS, CHECK THIS OUT:

Responding to someone asking the inevitable question: "So, you're saying he's a ND lock now?!?!?!", Greer had this to say:

@jeffgreer: .@manny1203 @MMcGiveron Not saying anything. Posting his quotes as I listen to my interview w him. I honestly have no clue where he'll go

Then later, Mr. Greer had this to say
@jeffgreer: One source at McDermott's high school says he'll go to #NotreDame. A #Canes source think it's a done deal to Miami. I'm going to bed.

Calm your socks, people. Just wait for Kc to announce.

Please.
