The Good, Bad and Ugly

I give Gattis credit for changing the offense between the 20's towards TVDs strengths. The WRs and TEs stepped-up big in this game.

However, as much as you want to praise Gattis, it is still the same plays being called at the goaline. We can't run the ball especially at the goaline, yet Mario and Gattis keep calling the same predictable run plays that we can't execute. This is just insanity at this point. Predictable run plays on downs 1-3 against a run blitzing goaline defense.

How about a 1st and goal play action pass for an easy TD?

If we convert our 1st and goal possessions to TDs, we are 5-0 right now despite all the other team deficiencies.
Hard to argue with this.

The Good: TVD. It took the player to plead with his knucklehead coaches to open things up. Kids played hard.

The Bad: slow starts once again on Offense and Defense continue to plague the team…hmmm, coaching???

The Ugly: Gattis. Whoever says he did a good job wasn’t watching the game. Count the RUN UP the MIDDLE plays…I recall at least a DOZEN that netted ZERO yardage. Please. The game was lost with two possessions. The 1st and Goal..let me see, run, run, run up the middle. joke. The second kiss of death was the 4th down call at midfield.

On to VT. Another terrible team. TVD should light them up if Gattis gets out of the way…

we haven't run it well and consistently against most FBS teams this year. not sure why they thought it would change.
Running the ball well against A&M was a blessing and a curse. A blessing in that it gave a picture of what could/will be but also gave the coaches a little too much confidence that we can consistently do it now.

Coaches are the most stubborn people on earth.
As they should be. They aren't going to change "what got them there".

Huge red flag if they did.

Big Manny was brought in to remake Miami into his image, his philosophy.

Porsters are kidding themselves to expect "change with players on roster".

They barely tried it this week, we just found other ways to **** things up.

We’re still the team begging to blow your Saturday with untimely penalties, turnovers and blown coverages.

*Long developing passing play in the red zone. Nope.

* STOP RUNNING FAKE JET SWEEPS MY GOD MAN.

* More screens.

* PUSH THE ******* BALL DOWNFIELD. I don't think we attempted more than 1 pass over 10 yards for the first 35 minutes of the game.
The troubling part about the bold is that even a casual follower can understand how crucial a fast start is against a team constructed like UNC is (and their style).

We FAILED in the portal. Brought in a bunch of MID, even Meisedor is average, don’t see why people were hyping him at all. Agude is stiff and can’t finished ****, LBer can’t take Flaggs spot. Failed to bring in a real difference maker at WR. OLine transfers can’t take these pvssies spots. Parrish and Porter are the only two worth a ****. Jackson finally flashed a bit but he has all that size for what

This season only matters in regards to who is gonna be on the roster in 2023.

So far, not many have deserved it. Why do y'all think Mario installed the Michigan State guy who made a complete turnover on their roster en route to a winning season with one third being portal transfers? Its going to be the same next year. Tons of scholarships will be removed.
I expect many changes in the off-season with the roster and one big one on the staff.

I’m sorry @Cribby but the Ugly of our in a inability to score in the red zone pretty much overcomes the other points. Not that the positives aren’t valid because they are. But because all the rest doesn’t change the score because of the red zones failures. At least last year when we could not run we could still score thru the air.
Witrout major, major improvement I can’t see Gattis back next year.

Gattis may leave next year but won’t be for that reason.

Zero separation. Plays aren’t there.

Woof. Truth hurts.

Three most winnable games left are our next three.

TVD getting his mojo back is big. WR’s stepped up.

Flagg, Harvey much better than last year.

DB’s beyond concerning.

As is the run game.

Hoping to be 5-3 going into FSU game. We’ll need the mojo. Hate to say it…they’re good
They are not good, but they are better than us.

Good write up Crib. I'm glad you pointed out the 3rd down defensive inefficiency woes. Very reminiscent of Grantham back at UF where 1st & 2nd downs always looked very solid then something inexplicably boneheaded was called, the 3rd down late in the 4th where Harvey was dropped into coverage on their rb was a perfect example. Steele needs to improve in this regard in a hurry, although his back 7 personnel he's inherited is for the most part 💩.

Add Colby young to bright spot for us.

The condensed formations allow the other team to blitz us so easy. I don’t get why we go to it on third down
