I’m guessing that means no Green, Stewart, or Cooper. Back to back underwhelming classes would really suck.

If we move on to “watch for the flip” season, then we’re ****ed.
That’s what @DMoney is implying. We’re ****ed.

If we can’t pay for these recruits to overcome our decades of mediocrity then shut it all down because we sure as **** ain’t out-scheming anyone.

A “top 5 NIL” to consistently miss out on 5* talent a lot of top portal talent and finish in the 9-15 range? That math ain’t mathing.

People ask, “Why do local players crap on Miami?” And those same people have hundreds of posts crapping on Miami.

And it’s usually deserved. We’ve been bad for two decades. There are many reasons to be cynical. But we can’t act surprised when local kids who grew up in Miami, around Miami fans, around Miami meltdowns have a lack of faith in Miami.
D$ you're the homie and all but something not right here feel like you're not telling us something. It must be issue with the staff and or NIL. Cause we went 7-5 landed top 5 class. Then had our best season in 20 years in 2024 and now recruiting fallen off a cliff and recruits dont believe in us. Like how, now should be the time they believe in us the most we actually have life. 2025 is our best roster since 03

Recruiting is a curse. Have to write off the season before we even lose to a mid-ACC team

It happens when you **** the bed yet again in November and lose 3 out the last 4 to end the season. It makes negative recruiting so **** easy for the opps. We don’t look like a serious program out there, we just don’t and haven’t. We are closer to Duke than we are even a Penn State.

The good news is that the roster is more than adequate to win 10 this year but we have to do it and actually show we aren’t just gonna face plant again at the end of the season.
And that still was our best season in 20 years so

Mario wasn’t brought here to lose Derrek Cooper 4 years in. Not taking a knee, 21-0, whatever.

If he can’t recruit a top 10 class with this backing 4 years in, then he is useless. The guy who replaced at Oregon is doing better. At some point, Mario does this or he doesn’t.

Especially the local players? Lol. Honestly how do you not just say **** them then. Target the OOS big metro areas far more than the local dudes until they start wanting to be Canes. It really shouldn't be this hard to get these local guys given the resources we are offering them. If they are looking for any excuse to leave, then why value them so much more than the OOS guy that is looking for reasons to come here?
Then the excuse will be “local players feel like they aren’t being prioritized” or some other bull****.

And Mario made seemingly positive additions to the recruiting office as well.

Lol

“Win and they will come”

Best season we had in awhile they don’t come pause

Goalpost: “we didn’t make the playoffs that’s why”

5-7 year one good class

Goalpost: “you can sell what your building your a new HC”

All bs
Results matter. on the field and in the draft.

and i don’t think recruits believe in our head coach any more than half this board does. half of them have older brothers, uncles and dads who been hearing the same “a new day is coming” spiel we been selling for 20 years.

i’m from Jersey, and Miami recruits basically treat us like the Top NJ guys treated Rutgers when i was a kid.

so until he proves it where it counts, we’ll have to pay up for recruits primarily motivated by money.

This is a ridiculous post by the OP. Mario has assembled a top 10 class up to this point- Cantwell, Campbell, Spafford, etc. All of a sudden other kids don’t believe in the program? I’m thinking there’s more to the story. NIL not what we think it is to bring in more blue chips? How does anyone really know what NIL is truly available?

Mario was brought here to fix that.
Mario was brought in to win. We’ve won more each year, and we’ve left wins on the table each year. Georgia Tech ‘23 and Syracuse ‘24 worst of all. It’s time to get over the hump.

Our roster has improved immensely. My target would be 11 wins- something we haven’t done since Sean Taylor was in our secondary. If we take a step back, it’s going to be a rough time.

He won’t do it. Hopefully Miami cans him within the next 2 years. Should have been canned after Ga Tech in 2023.

How is this even possible tho real talk. Only Miami is the school where hometown advantage is Null and void. We missed on those DTs because they weren't in our backyard but then we can't get guys in our own backyard
I swear Miami fans out hella out of touch w/ how kids view us down here. This generation does not care about the time before them not one iota, they grew up watching Miami suck/mid. Only way to change this for the better is success on the field and in the NFL Draft. Gotta make the playoff this yr the roster good enough to get it done.
