This guy is consistently always the last one to post his update. Well after everyone else does. Why? Could it be that he has no connections?
Wilson, Seaton, a reliable K, any linebacker with a pulse, and a surprise qb would be ultimately a very strong haul.So according to the last 2 banks the portal haul will be:
WR (Jacobs)
- DE
- OT/G
- TE
- QB
- K
Hopefully some of those last few spots are filled with "elite" talent since we are taking a much smaller portal class this year (e.g., Beaton, Simpson, Wilson). I like the 4 we've added so far but none project as game wreckers which is what I was hoping for this cycle (maybe they turn into Keionte/Jakobee and way outperform their portal grade).
So miami kids can enter for 5 days after the game i believe. So what if 5-6 guys leave. Nobody can enter from another team to fill a spot. How stupid is that? Guess Lucas showed the way but ridiculous. I know people have complained about the calendar but this worse.

That’s fine and all, but when you lose 4 out of 5 of your O-line, having 80% uncertainty is pretty sketchy. Better to bring in an established player or 2 to help anchor things.
Same for D-line.
We have no one at QB that could sustain the level we are at now. Your point is true about many other positions though.
That's the problem. You nailed it. Teams that play in the NC game (Miami and Indiana) can have players leave via the portal after the portal ends for the non-competing teams. So, though not probable, but certainly possible, Indiana/Miami can lose 10 guys to the portal, and not be able to fill those spots since the portal is closed to other teams, AND there is no fall portal.
That’s why u recruit 5 and high 4 stars and let them marinate. Not saying they shouldn’t go find a productive player, but thinking that a team has to replace every position with another productive player in the portal is unrealistic. Some positions you’ll replace with a productive player, others is the next man up.
Not worried about qb, they’ll add a quality qb.

You're right but he did not win the job. We will never know if the #1 guy did not get hurt. Maybe Mario finds the next Chambliss. Maybe Miami has to go with somebody already on the roster. Lets see how it plays out.
True and anything can happen but I would be shocked if Mario and staff do not already have a pretty good idea of who plans to jump into the portal besides the guys who already did.
I'm with you. I don't believe for a second that Mario was left at the altar concerning a QB.

That's exactly what almost happened for two seasons in a row, I hoped he could change the approach a bit before getting burned but it looks like he gotta learn the hard way.
