Looking ahead to the future could McCoy and kinsler play inside at Guard? I imagine Okunlola and Mauigoa are the OTs of the future. With all of them basically Freshmen there could be a log jam there. Would hate to see McCoy leave if he's really as good as they're saying
If he's as good as billed, you find a spot for him at LG or even try his 6' 6" self at Center.

Whatever it takes to get the best 5 on the field. Mirabal has mentioned that himself.

There are only 6 NFL centers who are 6' 6", but a few of them are really solid:

  • Luke Fortner – Jaguars (this dude had a solid rookie season)
  • Graham Glasgow – Broncos
  • Ethan Pocic – Browns
  • Mitch Morse – Bills
  • Nick Gates – Giants
  • Austin Schlottman – Vikings

D - good stuff, as usual.

Regarding McCoy, was listening to the Flo post scrimmage report and one of the people on there (maybe Flo?) mentioned that McCoy lined up next to Kinsler on a few plays at RG. Is this correct or did I hear wrong? I was always under the impression that McCoy was pure tackle and looks like Bruno is as well? Would love to see Bruno at guard some since we seem to have a plethora of tackles (Zion, Francis, Samson, McCoy) but not enough guards.
We are playing the young tackles inside as well.

@DMoney do you think that rivers is a good enough at tackle to go against most of the D-ends in the ACC?? Would you be worried or think he would need help against like a Texas A&M and Clemson

So to Recap…2022 Vs 2023

OC - HUGE upgrade
DC - big upgrade

QB - More consistent due to OC
RB - Better size/depth (4 quality starters)
TE - more versatility/better depth
WR - More depth/consistency (better scheme too)
OL - massive upgrade in: Size/Depth/maturity/talent

DE - Big time Upgrade/better depth
DT - similar depth as last year but more maturity
LB - More depth/talent/speed
CB - Better Talent but still questions
S - same as last year except with more improvement

K - Equal if not better due to maturity
P - most likely a downgrade due to Hedley being a top Punter

after this Saturdays scrimmage will tell us a lot but I wasn’t kidding when I said this’ll be like a 2021 Lashlee Offense with a better Run game (and a much more elite OL) and a 2017/2018 Manny Diaz Defense (with more detail)

We have the QB + 4 RBs that have the ability to take over a game + an O-Line that’s 8 Deep and ALSO has the ability to enforce their will + Elite DEs that can absolutely get to the QB & Elite/Experienced safeties in Kinchens + J Williams that can man the back.

+ major improvements at WR/LB?!

Sorry y’all I’m sipping that Kool-Aid…

Plethora of tackles hahaha what? You listed a dude that’s injured and hasn’t played in two years, 2 true freshmen andMcCoy who I’m not sure if he’s even played a snap. We don’t have great depth .

Joe Tippman was the taken in the 2nd by the Jets this year and he is 6’6 as well.

I’d add smaller on the Dline and no true CB1 this year compared to last years defense on top of all the good points you made.

The big improvement at safety is JW not having shoulder problems.

I’m on the koolaid too! A 10-win season is happening this year.

Agreed on the smaller DL but I think the Talent of Taylor/Deen is better than we’ve had since Norton/McIntosh their ability to disrupt in this Guidry defense I think will surprise a lot of people. This is Taylor’s $$$ year and he knows it.

For CB I’d argue Davonte Brown has been our CB1 for the most part. It’s a good problem to have where our CB2 is a question mark due to high competition between Damari/Ja’Dais/Daryl Porter & Tecory Couch (although it seems Damari is taking the reigns)

We have more tackle depth then we have guard depth.

We have 3 total tackles Zion doesn’t count. How is that a plethora of depth?

I wasn’t speaking on guard but yeah we aren’t deep there either. Our line is paper thin. I think the starting unit can be really good but 1 injury away from a big mess.

The biggest thing IMO is how motivated a lot of these guys are to right the ship from last year. That stuff sticks with you. You see the demeanor of the team is a 180.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard” but from what iv seen we have talent that’s working hard right now…
