“To a lesser extent” McConathy? Are you kidding me? He was getting a **** ton of hype, more hype than OJ. McConathy was probably the most hyped recruit of last year. You forgot about ZP?
Mcconathy went from most hyped freshman to DE6 or 7 pretty quickly. Not trying to knock the kid, but it shows we need to temper expectations.

Most freshmen names pumped at this time of year don’t play. Toney,Moore,Lightfoot better see the field. They can win us games.

God I hope we arent playing Mesidor, Blount, and Bain on every down. Gotta get some speed in for better results on passing plays.
Last year this time the true freshman we heard most about being a freshman all American.

@DMoney
I appreciate the love for the kids but let’s be honest. If two freshman start, we may have concerns about the quality of past recruits and transfers.

They can flash but don’t tell me Moore over CJ/Jojo doesn’t make you question those two. Love Moore’s potential and I hope he takes the Horton snaps to produce even better results. Same With Lowe over Lightfoot. Simpson over jones/scott…

What I want to know, are the 2/3 year kids developing and taking the step. Are we able to get the most talented kids in vs not due to lack of playbook knowledge. Pump the freshman that are pushing for 2 deep roles but let’s not forget this staff has struggled to get some elite kids on the field.

Let’s see how he does once a QB can’t avoid him or just throws his way like McCord. He filled the void because the back 7 sucked!!! If the other 6 play at or above his level, we either go 15-0 or he will get exposed more and people will complain about a sophomore slump.

I took the “hype” behind him more because he was one of the lower ranked kids in the class but was gonna contribute. Never really took it like he was gonna be a starter or dominant

But either way you’re correct. We all should know better by now with some of the camp buzz

Went from the next Rusty Medearis to Denny Fortney

But maybe it means the talent has been upgraded overall at that position...
Denny was a smart cat and more DT.

we added Lowe. What I believe or hope, the DC is getting the talent on the field. Lightfoot, Blount, Scott, etc. we can’t land elite talent only to sit them constantly. Yes. Some need to adjust but man have we lost more 4-5star kids than retained which leads to serious questions.

Was Denny kind of a tweener, he seemed really small for DT. Try hard guy, but poor mans Matt Walters in my view

As for Cole, last season he looked like a guy who was meant for a redshirt. Good motor, but needed more weight. And he didn't have that out right un-Godly quickness that some have to overcome that.

But to your last point, thats why blowouts matter. It's the best way to keep everyone happy in terms of snaps and actually develop depth

McConathy definitely slowed down after spring but he still played more than Lightfoot, who was a five star.

The guys who had the most momentum this time last year were OJ Frederique and Jordan Lyle as late arrivals. Bryce Fitzgerald's trajectory reminds me a bit of those guys. Lofton's hype was pretty consistent and he would've played even more if not for Arroyo.

Denny was a 5t body stuck in a 4/3 defense. Not fast enough for DE and not big enough to face guards all day. Pretty sure he was 275-285 and strong as heck.

Cole got snaps that Lightfoot, Pickett, or Bryant should have. Not enough size/strength against the run and not nearly enough speed to be an edge. He needs 30lbs and to play a similar role as Mesidor. Not sure he has that talent but he may.

100% agree on blowouts!

We went yearssssss with no blowouts, in constant death matches with the dregs of acc teams.. No development and lowers teams morale for sure..

even last years, we were in outright dog fights or having to make miracle comebacks.

To me, blowouts are like KO's(dominant ones, or clear decisions) in boxing, they really do tell you how good a team/boxer is

OJ played due to Brown’s injury
Lyle was 3rd string until injuries
Lofton played some but didn’t have a big impact compared to “he is potentially our best RB and athlete”
Pruitt didn’t sniff the field likely due to tweener…I think he should have played more.
McConathy didn’t produce in the few games he played.

We need Toney like we needed X.
We need a big 50/50 WR like AR. (Moore)
We need a speed rusher. Pickett, Lowe, Lightfoot … don’t want to see Bryant or McConathy.
We need nickel to be a solid backup.

We need the coaches to hit on more kids than miss.
What the **** were yall expecting? 8 True Freshman starters? Lmao. If a True Freshman is getting legit snaps, that's pretty **** impactful for the most part. Like oh no Lofton wasn't an impactful freshman because he didn't start over ******* Elijah Arroyo! .... yall tripping for real. Lol Lyle received 60 touches as a true frosh on the #1 offense in the country. McConathy didn't produce.... but he was a 3star true frosh that got on the field game 1 lol.

Again Toney and Moore are getting hype. Is it only living up to the hype if they get 1k yards? I'm confused lol.

You’ll know in about 3 weeks.

No idea what you base some of your views on. You’ve never seen Moore play in a college game and either have I. Why are you trying to force rank guys you’ve never seen play a game?
