Mario has done a good job of raising the floor of the program, however I don’t see anyone on the roster or the current commits for ‘26 as difference makers.

We have been striking out on the elite talent guys like Duke Johnson and AR82. Duke was signed in 2012 and AR in 2016. AR didn’t even play a full career..we signed Duke 13 years ago.

Until we get more of these guys across all positions like OSU, UGA, UT, etc has…this program will remain in purgatory with an occasional playoff appearance and the elusive ACC championship.

It’s easy to say “up the bag” but the top programs also recruit at an elite level because they can match us in that department, and they have the recency bias of relevancy nationally.
This class so far as decent as it is only has 1 whale, not what we should expect for a top 5 NIL program.

Still sounds like winning cures everything. Cam going 1st RD helps with QB’s for sure. Now we need Francis and Bain to be 1st RD picks. That coupled with receivers living up to their rankings. That should translate to recruiting. Now you have more than Cam to show recruits.

Mario is not a 1st year head coach coming into his first season at Miami, the whole narrative of having to recruit against a backdrop of 20 years of losing is a cop out excuse. He's been here for 4 years now & his first 3 seasons, he had one winning season, it's nobody's fault but his own.

I agree with your overall point, but he's had 2 winning seasons, not1, and he walked into a ****** situation in season 1. I don't hold bad year 1s against any coach anywhere.

You absolutely hold a 5-7 season and getting dogwalked at home against MTSU, FSU, Duke and Pittsburgh against a coach... the season went to **** after Mario coached to keep it close against Texas A&M like a *****...

We’re signing borderline elite OL/DL classes and that raises the floor of the program tremendously.

But at some point you gotta hit on one of these game changing type skill guys. We seem allergic to that.

I can agree with you on OL..however on DL still to be results. We need at least one of the rising sophomore Edge rushers to hit and Justin Scott is a must hit for us.

Bain needs to show up this year, injured or not what a disappointing year for him.

I will never get upset for missing on a RB via recruiting in this era. It's wayyyy to easy to find a good RB in the portal and in recruiting
**** we landed a True freshman FCS RB coming off a 1200 yard 15TD season just to come here and compete

Mario has about the same record as Manny in the same amount of time at UM with far more resources. He took Manny’s 7 win players and won 5 that next year.

He’s not a good game coach.

He’s not an above average talent evaluator or player developer.

He’s got Top 5 NIL but not recruiting a Top 5 Class.

He’s not going anywhere because he has eons of time left on a contract funded by his backers so there’s no point in having that conversation for another 3-5 years.

But some of these guys on here think it’s unfair to speak the facts and the truth because he followed Manny who followed Richt who followed Orange Tie Sweathead who followed Radio who followed Clappy.

Meanwhile Rhett Lashlee, who left as OC at the end of the Manny Era, took Garen Justice and Rob Likens with him and got SMU to the ACCCG in year 1 in the ACC.
