Since done posted this..Roger Harriott probably sent three coaching assistants to Diego fegot home for sta. That kid looks legit..but he plays probably the worst comp I'm s.fla. bUT he seems technical and refined...good coaching going on over there. Their qb just transferred to deerfield.

He thought about coming to STA last year. I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer to STA this year.

Me and DMoney were discussing about him yesterday. I came across him a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. Blustein told me this kid really showed out at the FL Fire tryouts. Said he can run and cover with the best.

As you mentioned. My only concern is the competition but this kid can run, hit, cover and diagnose very well.

I have him in my top 50 for Dade/Broward prospects in 2017.

My top two are Wilder and Steed but F'agot I have pending on change of competition and how he looks if he comes to STA.

Me & DMoney have come to agreement that we would like F'agan as a take at Safety. If he blows up in weight room, he gives option down the line for OLB.

so what would your safety class look like ---- im think d gibson, d wright, and n ***an

If it were me, i would take 4, especially with us being able to bring in a big class, Steed, Wilder, Miller, and Chei Hill or Singleton from Jersey who I would like our chances with if we put the full court press on him, we have to start taking advantage of certain recruiting classes and loading up on quality, taking two does not make sense. This cycle I would load up on RBs, OL, LBs, DTs not DEs(would only take 1-2 DEs), and Secondary specifically safeties(would rather get grad transfers for CB position because 2018s class is absolutely loaded and we should take 4 CBs in that class minimum.

3 and a hybrid like F'agan?

I see F'agan at safety. If you're looking for a LB who can cover like a safety, check out Raven Saunders in OP. Really like his skill set.

I don't see Miami offering F'agan unfortunately. Gotta think "stack when abundant" is needed here.

You catching on. That's right "stack when abundant". If we can sign 4 LB in 2017 we believe are all 4* or better, then do it and sign one stud LB in 2018.

3 or 4 LB'ers
5 or 6 DB/S
3 or 4 OL
4 or 5 DT/DE
3 or 4 WR
2 RB
1 ATH
1 QB
1 PK
TOTAL: 28

Houston is that deal. SFE express coaches coach flag football so their opinion is invalid when it comes to LB play...other than if they understand what coverages look like, and where to be in coverage. Other than that...its hard to see how good an lb is in that type of setting...though Houston is pretty good in coverage....I watched him @ camp setting last off season look pretty good against his peers. He's a big kid about 6'1-6'2 215-220. So since Steed hasn't played his junior year..we cant tell who is better.....Houston is likely a SAM backer anyway...

My early Wants @ LB:

Steed
Miller
Houston
Fegot

On the bubble, honorable mention: Wilder

I'd take 4 in this class....I expect attrition at LB...some kids we currently have aren't um level. We got to keep churning the roster imo.

Looks like we might not have to leave S.FLA for LB's this year... things will start to shake it self out by summer though....I wanna see how Steed looks now..he was a beast when I first watched him. Houston I'm bias on since I know personally.lol

Surprised you have Wilder on the bubble. Is it due to him being a little raw? Because I feel the tools and proven against tough competition is there. He can run for a LB too. 10.8 in 100m according to Pete article on him.

I agree with you going for 4. Really should be 3-4 this year and I think they will see that with the lack of quality at position on roster, and how loaded this year is for LBs, compared to other years in tri-county.

Feel they would be leaving a lot on the table, only taking 2 in a year like this. Considering we need to fix the quality at the position on roster.

I love Houston IV speed and range but I felt wanting more of pop at point of contact when he tackles. Find him to be more of arm and drag catch tackler.

As I said earlier. My opinion is Steed and Wilder. Decide between F'agot and Miller at MLB(If F'agot can adjust to competition at a school like STA, you take him IMO.). If we take a 4th, go between Miller, Kearney or Houston IV.... If we go for 4.

Take F'agan as a safety. See how body develops over time. (He's a take regardless, in my mind.)

Wilder was on bubble for me because of his weight in this scheme. Just rewatched film...I mean kid is rangy as all ****...and can run....Is a Carol City kid...those kids produce at a high level. I would put F"agot on the bubble...after rewatching...Wilder if he is around 210-215 starting the sr year...will be real good for him. OLB rangy types like him and Houston would be great.

Agreed F'agan im not even looking as a lb here weighing close to 190.

Houston I believe will develop more pop as he gets more weightroom work...but he diagnoses..and gets to it...RIGHT NOW...extremely quick and fluid..he aint gonna waste a lot of motion. Plus he understands defense pretty good...probably more so than Wilder...who was asked to play de a lot in his film.

TOTALLY FORGOT about Kearney...whose film is better than ALL of them....so yea...gotta bring him back in the fold with the s.fla guys ands we are GOOD MONEY..

1.) on my board is KEARNEY

Steed, Miller, Houston, Wilder and you just revampd your lb core in two classes with certified goons.

I know that's 5....but we got to cut bait on some guys on the roster after the season. Some guys that are situational will be complete situational..(Mike Smith seems solid moving forward as an edge rusher)

Mccray, Gordinier, King will have this year to show their worth....if any of the young guys (2015) surpass them its a wrap.

Gibson and N. F'agan, Then....

I would trade Ross only for a guy like Amari Carter, Daniel Wright, Juwan Burgess or Cyrus F'agan if one wants in.

Cyrus heavy FSU lean, Wright will be a tough pull.

Burgess I believe can happen, he's very high on Miami and he comes from a feeder school in Tampa from Tampa Plant that would go to UGA, under Richt.

Carter they have been on heavy since January. Saw his junior film and I was amazed.

Otherwise I would keep Ross. Brian Edwards I have about same with Ross, so either or is fine.

One guy I would keep close eye on is George Hunter from Atlantic.

***
Local coach told me he believes Amari Carter might be the best safety in the state. (Want to see more of him first though.)

I think Latavious Brini money position is actually corner at the next level.

Diego is impressive... He played against my school this year and is definitely a hidden gem in the SFC

I was very high on Kearney too. Would have liked a group of him, Steed, Wilder and Miller. If he will still consider Miami, I'm all game for taking him back. He wanted to open things up because theirs a new staff here now, but he spoke to both Richt and Diaz and they're interested and he was formally invited to Junior day as well. (He was just up in South Carolina for a visit last weekend, Trob got him to make the trip up there)

Only thing holding back staff on F'agan is position at next level. Me & Dmoney take on him is safety. If he outgrows safety he gives you an option a few years down the line as OLB. Take him regardless of that.

I understand a bit where you're coming from in regards to Wilder and Houston. Houston a bit more coached up being at Heritage compared to being at Carol City.

I love the ceiling and potential Wilder brings.

My concern was seeing Wilder and Houston in person. How physical Wilder was compared to Houston, as well as being a bit lighter. I do love Houston ability to cover though and his range and speed.

Definitely not out of the realm of possibility for Houston, to become more physical presence as a tackler with more weight room work.

As for F'agot. Really like him but as I told Dmoney. My main concern is the competition, he's a man amongst boys for a reason. Can he be a man amongst boys in big time Dade/Broward county ball. If he can, go and lock him up at MLB!! He has shown he can in 7on7 with the FL Fire but that's just one small step towards it. I'm really hoping he makes the move to STA, cause I'm excited to see how he adjusts.

Smith(maybe salvaged as DE with Kool), King, McCray are on that block you speak of IMO.

Gordinier I have on the bubble. As Dmoney mentioned, could be a DE.

Really think we need a good group of 3 to 4 to fix the position. Your 5th would be F'agan if he outgrows safety down the line.

I've watched a lot of film for 2018. As of now, the tri-county not as nearly loaded in 2018 at LB as it is in 2017. 2016 was a weak year as well outside of Rice from Norland IMO.

Seems like a good reason to take more than 2 this cycle. Just way too much talent to limit to 2

For my money I'm taking Miller, Houston, Wilder and Steed. F'agan with some sort of hybrid role

I liked Donovan Thompson a lot from central but he lacked size for major D1s to go after him in 2016.

I think all the "DThompson should have an offer to the U!; Keep this Goon home!" crowd left the building permanantly after seeing him in a pic look like a midget standing next to Steed.

We have all discussed AT LEAST 6 high level, **** near elite level LBs in this class and they are only going to take 2 and let the FSUs/LSUs/ALAs/OSUs of the world cherry pick the rest????? CANT HAPPEN!

No possible way in **** they only take 2 LBs from this crop of studs.

I don't see how we don't bring a minimum of 3. We have a guy or two on the roster that better be looking over their shoulder at these young guns coming.

Wish we could take more Lbs in this class. But Wilder, Houston and Diego would be must haves for South Florida LBs. Plus the kid from IMG. Hopefully we take 4 but DBs/ DL is a bigger need to the coaching staff IMO.
How many do you see us taking and who are the must haves in your opinion @DMoney / @Geo

Two is the number I heard but I'd like three. Mike Smith and/or Jamie Gordinier could grow into ends in this defense.

3 and a hybrid like F'agan?

I don't think they would get much PT at DE we are recruiting some beast at that position...

mike smith, jamie gordinier, and james king have no reason to be on this team they are all golden specials....... we need to cleanse the program of the guys who are not miami talent and infuse more talent in these recruiting classes. We should be taking at least 4 linebackers in this loaded class and not 2 due to jag's on the current roster...

i hope we end up with
1. d wilder
2. v miller
3. j houston
4. d faagot or s marchiol
Mike smith is not a golden special, he was an elite dade county pass rushing specialist before his knee injury. He hasn't been 100% but he is closer to that mark rolling into spring. Don't kid your self Mike smith has a bunch of talent. One of the most physically gifted pass rushers on the team...

I just don't know where Smith fits in college.

IMO, he isn't a LB, he's too slow. Maybe he can become a pass rush specialist for us but has to beat out some good competition.

Yea I believe we take three with F'agan being moved to safety, then grab another three next year. The takes should be wilder, steed and either Marchiol, F'agot, or Miller

I feel he can at least be if not better than what Marcus Robinson was for Shannon's team getting at least 5 sacks a year. He doesn't have a fast 40 but is very quick in his first 10 yards which is all that matters for a pass rushing specialist which he truly should be playing
