Brother everyone's gonna have an opinion. Some people's are based on actual experience like you just quoted here and then others are simply people who have ***** ways and need to speak their truth. No matter what the back story is here I can't see him being able to become a liability because I know we're not gonna have another faith in him #1 that he can negatively affect us unless he just flat out decides he doesn't want an NFL career. A positive outcome is in his best interest just as much as it is ours.
Godspeed 5 1/2 months to kick off

It’s all pretty simple…

Yet we don’t win.
I think we might be better overall than last year. We may not be as explosive offensively but I think our defense will get stops. Only thing I think we lack is a number one wr who can play on the outside. Who knows one of our internal guys may become that this year. That is why you recruit em coach em and play em and if they excel you pay em. That is the college philosophy with players.

Dee and you are making me super uncomfortable about Beck. I know he's not Ward. But he played great for one year and pretty good for another on a team that faced more defensive competition than we do. Even if he wasn't loved by all his teammates, he's not TVD, either. My hope is he's all in for the next 10 months knowing he can have his name called Day 1 roughly a year from now if he performs like he did in 2023.

Brother maybe I'm not being clear here then. #1 while I'd love to see him dive more into team activities, it's not exactly pivotal as long as he eventually gets his work with them. Which he will. #2 I just know we're not gonna ask anywhere near as much of him as we did cam. With cam there was multiple reasons we called the game the way we did. Mainly the fact we knew we had true arm talent on our hands that is rare to say the least. But our defense also factored into that. We knew defense was a liability. I don't see that as the case this year. Which is why like I said at the end of the season (combined with the fact we lost all our established wr talent )that no matter who we had at QB(which like I said would've been Emory or Mendoza, before the one clown chimes in yup I was wrong, sure)or if it was mateer or anyone else wed add that we would run a more possession based offense. Well do that cause like Dawson just said that's the strength of our team but also cause we're aware what we have across the board. A better defense and a strong front almost always equals slow the game down. In that equation I don't think we ask a lot out of beck. Simply consistency and making the right reads. In that aspect alone he's a hundred times better than Tyler was. Relax and breathe. Overall I agree with most. When it relates to the team as a whole were gonna be better

I’m a big fan of Carson’s athletic ability, he’s the best QB we’ve had outside of Cam Ward in 20 years. I’m glad we have him. Im with you, let’s hope the next 10 months is all gas no brakes

This team has 8 wins written all over it. Mediocre, but improved defense, with no depth on the interior line and an underwhelming set of linebackers. Offense looks to be setting up for ground-and-pound with a wholly unproven and inexperienced receiving corps.
I honestly wouldn’t be too mad about it either lol, beat fsu and florida and im cool

If we just blow easily winnable games then yea if be ****ed but I don’t see what the fanbase sees when they say acc/playoffs or bust or this team is better than last year..Like are we just ignoring reality and doing the best case scenario thing for every position again? Fanbase always has to learn the hard way tho

Spring portal is still on the way tho so this isn’t final for me, hopefully we fill needs and add premium talent

Brother if you wanna have the conversation with yourself then just tag yourself. Why ask a question and then answer it. I've been said this season is gonna be more about a possession game. I said that with Emory, Mendoza or anyone else(even with mateer being targeted) that would've been the outlook. Might be a lil more open than I would've thought. But we are going to be primarily based on a safe game. People like y'all who look for every lil thing to ***** about will still find something to ***** about. So simply get ready. You see a scapegoat in my response? By now this team should be good enough that we can compete on any level. A failure to do so is a direct reflection on mario... You get that? Don't know why you constantly try to bait people into arguing. I'm not into that. You do you.
We agree. It is on Mario, every other season, too, but there was always somewhere else to lay the blame. I also agree that I don't care how we win win the games. Just win.

And yes, if we revert to an offense that loses us games, then yes people will call that out from going from the #1 offense in the country to Emory the Gawd Failure to whatever we roll out next.

It starts at 27:04

Former UGA QB1 Aaron Murray opined on Carson Beck

He brings up former UGA RB knowshon moreno that he was sick of Carson Beck last year

Aaron brings up that Carson was not a locker room guy, all he cared about was attention

Aaron Murray says Mario needs to sit him down and get him focused

Change your name to KNEEPADS. You're a ******* **********! True fact!

ACC/Playoffs or bust should be the expectation Year 4. But agreed that this looks like an 8 win team right now with Spring Portal on the clock to fill it out.

I dont see how we only win 8 games with out schedule unless we lost to 2+ teams that we aren't supposed to. We have the talent advantage in 11 games.
1. We’ve had the talent advantage in most games under Mario and his record at Miami is 22-16. We had the talent advantage against GT, Syracuse and Iowa State.

2. We lost our QB1, RB1, TE1, WR1-4 and 2 OL from our offense.

3. The 2025 schedule is more difficult than 2024.

Our QB1 is injured, vacations too much apparently, and the board thought he was cheeks at Georgia every game thread about them for years, our QB2 Da Gawd was inept at running the #1 offense in the country last time we played…

Still lots of time between now and the season to get right. No excuses against ND or any other team on our schedule.

4-10 under Mario in games after November 1st

Gotta fix the late season collapses but I am optimistic we will land a couple more key players in the spring and have the roster to win

We'll get the portal guys, Mario and his staff know the holes better than we fans do. And he's flat out admitted he didn't bring in enough DB talent last year, so he'd not making that mistake again.

My biggest fear isn't the personnel, it's having them play well together. Guys like Tyler Baron and Kiko who will both be drafted were mostly ineffective last year, especially at critical moments we needed a baller to step up. Hetherman really needs to get his side gelling. He has enough pieces and will have even more in a few weeks. And Beck needs to plug into that offense ASAP. I want to see a Joe Burrow or Jalen Hurts repeat.

I am not sure about the bolded. After your secondary is garbage for a season, it is easy to acknowledge the secondary sucked. But what happened in the offseason, spring, and summer before the games? What was the messaging then? The staff either: (1) failed to address those weaknesses, or (2) failed to perceive those weaknesses. In light of that, I am not prepared to accept the staff actually knows where they lack talent (outside of thr trenches).

Yea it’s basically expectations vs reality

That's fair. I guess we'll all see. My belief is we'll target a couple WRs, an IDL (preferably NG), a LB (preferably MLB), maybe a safety, maybe a RB and maybe even another receiving TE. If Mario is content at those first few spots (WR, DT, LB), then you will be proven correct.

I don’t like overreacting to things I read or hear but if we are letting people like Damari Brown and Jordan Lyle dictate who we bring in from the portal, that’s bad for business

Miss me with the “that’s how college football is now” stuff because the teams we wish we were arent letting 4 star recruits dictate roster decisions

We have done exactly this every single season (minus maybe 2017) for the past 2 decades.

What makes you think this season will be any different other than “hoping it won’t happen?”

I would very much like to admonish you for posting that but I can’t…. Because you’re right.
