I'm so glad football is back. I know I'm going to be disappointed as ****, but dammit if I don't need some Canes football!

Go Canes!

Take Coley and his scared self off the return game and let Choc return kicks. Let him loose.

I'm waiting until they take one of those weight room photos and these guys start comparing Jamal Carter to Sean Taylor.

LULZ at the Yearby-McGahee comparison.

Al Golden will have the 3rd unit in the game in the 2nd quarter against FSU....

Yippeee...

topic of the week. What did you see? 1-gap or two-gap?

Both.

Thanks. The players on the D-Line have been talking about a more aggressive approach on the front. Less containing. More picking a gap and going. Was that evident?

There is more one-gapping from what I can see, especially slanting.

First off, D, I appreciate the updates!

Secondly, I see what you're doing here but I'm not buying it. They've slanted a bunch over the years with little to no success. In fact, I recall the slants usually led to busts in the defense.

Lastly, are you guys serious about Willis comps? You're comparing 6-1, 230 with 5-9, 200?! On what planet are those similar?

Lol. He really does look like a miniature version of that other #2 , Miami Central product. Much different games, much different skillsets, much different measurables, but probably similar toughness and mental makeup. I hope he ends up being at least half as good as that other #2.

4-8? stop it. not a chance.

Schedule is pathetically easy and this team has the most important position on the field clearly definied.

If Golden can't find a way to win at least 8 or 9 games by accident this year....he honestly should consider a career switch. He's got used car salesman written all over him.

Thanks for the writeup, Dmoney! Don't know how you got to see the scrimmage with it being closed to media and the public (and I don't care) Keep up the good work! lol.

Looks like it was what we expected. Kaaya was sharp. (good news) defense was sound. (good news) OL was decent. (not good news) Running game was sharp. (good news) Remember this is VERY early for a scrimmage so lets take it with a grain of salt. Season don't start for another 3 weeks. They have another 2 weeks to iron out the kinks.

The guy who came on here and said his homeboy from Bethune likes playing us could have kept that post to himself. LOL. Bethune???? We will beat those guys by 3 TDs+. They MIGHT make it interesting for a quarter. Lets not get crazy here. Malik Rosier would start for them today. There is a reason why the LIV club level seats are only $100 for that game. LOL.

I said that Yearby looked like a young McGahee in the spring time and I was laughed at. Fact is..he looks like a YOUNG McGahee. Willis was not 6'1 230 ON ANY DAY while at UM. He came in at 200lbs as a freshmen out of Central. He left here at about 220lbs. Again, we are talking strictly body type. Not speed. So yes I agree, Yearby has the body type of a YOUNG willis mcgahee. Lets hope he plays half as good as willis did.

4-8 is nuts. This season will play out like all the rest. We'll at some point think we are good and on our way, and then we'll have stretch that puts Golden in the cross hairs and he'll be playing for his job on a cold Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh. We'll end up somewhere between 8-4 and 6-6. 8-4 and he keeps his job as long as 3 of those losses aren't in November. Anything worse than that, and no chance he returns.
