So Jack was hurt during the scrimmage. Makes sense

Allison was running 3rd team regardless of the injury. It is unlikely he's in the race right now.

I'm with Peter Ariz saying that Perry is the best option. I don't care if he been here a month give me the best player and put him under center

No one knows if Perry is the best player. He looks great on film against HIGH SCHOOL kids. Kyle Wright, Kirby Freeman and Robert Marve all looked great against HS competition. We'll see how he does in the fall against our D. Writing off the current guys seems a lot premature.

Go Canes!

Allison must be a freaking bum if he can't beat out a three star in Rosier and a last minute Golden special

Told yall, Perry is our only hope

What's the infatuation with defending Allison? Dude has had over a year now, and still can't catch up. For a four star, that is concerning considering his competition are two guys who have no business being on Miami scholarships

And lets not act like Richt hasn't expressed his disappointment in him before

People will be begging for Kaaya by the end of the FSU game.

"But but Kayak couldn't move and had cement feet. All we need is a guy who isn't a statue."

Why? BK couldn't beat them in 3 years despite having leads in all 3. I have no reason to think that'd change in year 4. I doubt many SANE posters would disagree that BK was probably the best option given the QB's on our roster but it's not demanding much to ask for at least a little mobility and pocket presence. If we replace him with a guy that can't hit the broad side of a barn then of course it will turn out awful but it is possible to have a QB that can do a little of both.

I'm sure you won't disagree that BK being a statue hurt us often. Especially with the swiss cheese OL we've trotted out there the past year or two.

Recruiting will fix these issues. And our schedule sets up well next year. We'll be fine.

Or maybe Richt wants a mature QB who knows his system. With the type of season we possibly could have I don't see Richt putting the game in a QB freshman's hands.

Doesnt matter if you know the system if you cant play.

Shirreffs is smart , above average arm and good legs. That mixed with our athletes could be a good fit.

With our front 7/defense the qb's main job is not to make huge mistakes and move the chains. Whoever wins the job won't have as much pressure as say BK did. The offense won't be all on their shoulders. Oh and having # 1 in the backfield won't hurt.

What the **** makes you so sure both Rosier and Shirreffs "can't play"? Stop speaking in absolutes when you don't know what you're talking about, dumbass.

IMO hes the best player based on film maybe im wrong but thats my guy over the rest, he brings an element the rest dont and its not the run game either its his calmness and awareness in the pocket.

People around here speak in such definites , it's hilarious.

" This guy will start", it's definitely going to be multiple guys ", " this guy stinks, "this guy will be awesome" or they just have their guy they want to start.

Nobody knows a **** thing.

When they told me last year that Jack had accuracy issues i knew he was done 4.....thats the worst weakness to have as a qb i dont care how good his arm is if u cant put it in a tight window u fked.

Or maybe the 3 stars are beating out the 4 star in allison! Let's be positive fellas

If Evan can stand tall under pressure, something we haven't seen in a while, and show just enough athleticism to pick up some yards when they're available he is your '17 starting QB.

Kaaya made plenty of throws will getting drilled and he's still called soft. The only thing Evan could do to get love is go 15-0

Remains to be seen if he can do it at the college level, especially as a true freshman. Long list of guys who we're the next great one until they started playing for real.

With what Richt said a few days back about having an idea who the leader is, but wanting to see how they do in a live setting, I think it's clear that Shirreffs is the guy he has leading. Not saying he'll keep the job, but there has been a lot of praise from the staff for a whole year about his ability. We've heard them praise his footwork, decision making, and now how he can stand in the pocket, take a hit, and complete passes.

Now, Perry very well could come in and blow everyone away, and I hope he is the next coming of... any great QB. There is also a chance Shirreffs is a little better than people on here give him credit for.

I think Shirreffs distances himself from the current crop, with Rosier being a solid #2 guy. The when Perry comes in we'll know fairly quickly what his chances are of displacing either Rosier or Shirreffs. His first order of business will be making it to #3 , because Richt isn't going to put let any new starter have a long rope. If Shirreffs falters, and Rosier struggles, if Perry is ready, Richt will play him.
