OK, I rescind my comment that Richt's offense is Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world because that's an insult to VHS

What Richt is running is akin to film strips(you remember those right? The things we used to watch back in elementary school back in the waaaay olden days on a white projection screen)

Thats what we are currrently

Again, this is 'Richtbation'....
That's still reach. More like etch-a-sketch........by a four-year-old.

After Tuesday’s practice, head coach Mark Richt responded to criticism of his play-calling, saying that the offense simply needs to execute the calls better.

“I respond to it in that there’s nothing wrong with the plays being called,” Richt said. “What’s wrong is we haven’t executed well enough. If anyone saw what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, if the know football they know we have to do a better job of executing what we call… The plays have a chance for success if everyone does what they need to do.”

Richt said injury issues have led to Miami playing some younger guys before they might be ready, which is particularly true at WR with Ahmmon Richards medically retiring.

“We’ve had some injury issues that caused us to play certain guys, younger guys have more trouble being consistent than a veteran,” Richt said. “And I’m not blaming the freshmen by any means. But if you make a change, then all of a sudden this guy goes through his issues. The thing to do is everybody to stick together, keep working hard, perfect what they do and take care of their job and we’ll be fine. That’s the answer in my opinion.”

During practice, the team has been making corrections to certain plays that don’t work well on Greentree.

“The key is we’ll make corrections as we go, don’t say `too bad’ and forget about it,” Richt said. “The bottom line is we’re making the corrections every single day, every practice. … If there’s a play we don’t like we’ll certainly throw it out.”

So, are some play working in practice and then not in games?

“You can only rep so many plays against so many looks,” Richt said. “Every once in a while there might be a defense that wasn’t exactly what we had practiced against the scout team and the scout team can’t simulate perfectly the team you’re about to play.”

Does Richt see more mistakes now than earlier in the season?

“No,” Richt said simply.

Despite two straight losses, Richt believes the team has not fractured and is still working together towards a common goal.

"We’re together and unified, the staff is,” Richt said. “Everyone else seems to be in a tizzy. We're pretty solid in believing what we do. Guys are pushing toward the next game and the next victory."

Miami will return to Hardrock Stadium for the first time in a month when they take on Duke this Saturday for a night game.

“It’s going to be good to be home,” Richt said. “It’s going to be good to go play another team. Both teams are hungry for a victory now, both teams are 5-3, need a win. Looking forward to the battle, our Cane Walk and our fan base backing us up and giving us that home field advantage that is so crucial in these games.”

Of note, Richt said TE Will Mallory was not at practice today, as he was out with an eye infection.
Mallory must be under Weldons guidance to college

I always thought Richt was a good dude. And admittedly, I thought he would turn this program around. Boy was I an idiot. This dude is downright offensive (no pun intended). Every comment he makes just makes me hate him more. He honestly thinks that we are all a bunch of morons. He’s yet to take ownership for anything. Instead, he sits here and blames the players. Then backtracks and says that he isn’t blaming the players, but then goes on to blame the players some more. This **** is mind boggling. Even ***** *** Al Golden had the nuts to accept the blame.

“We’re together and unified, the staff is,” Richt said. “Everyone else seems to be in a tizzy.”

A tizzy?

RICHt will soon learn he isn’t in Athens anymore
Good, let all the rats sink on the ship together.

How arrogant can you get? Its not my play calling or my 30 year old plays. No its the players fault.

Next thing ya know we'll hear that Thomas is too fast. Oh.. Wait.

U know what the most baffling part about him endlessly blaming execution is? He continues to start a QB who literally cannot execute those plays. Does he know them? Possibly yes. But he can't make wide open throws. How can he possibly say that the players aren't executing when he's playing a QB who can't!

If the players consistently have trouble executing a system it is not a good system. How hard is that to understand??

Somebody please tell Corch to run 1's vs 1's on Greentree. Let Manny have his way with our O and see if the play-calling still works..

LOL manny would eat richt alive, they would get destroyed.

Right. If you are trying one thing and it has consistently failed, a smart man try’s to take a different approach to the problem.

Wait till the official prediction post starts OMG , I know my prediction won't be to positive AT ALL.

When your players aren't physically OR mentally able to do what you're asking them to do
WHAT THEN? Simple, change what you're doing ,you dont act like your playbook is the Holy Bible and and cannot or will not change!Good coaches evolve with the game !

Malik and Perry cant run what he wants right now so not exactly sure why he thinks it is fine. Other than throwing in some motion and more bubble screens, I am starting to wonder if there is an easier offense to run? He runs a god **** HS offense.

Does anyone know how or if the offense under Kaaya was drastically different? Kaaya seemed to play just fine. Had just as good or better numbers with Richt than with Coley.

But the reporters are asking about play calling so he's going say lack of execution. Does the offensive system and principles work with our players is what they should ask. Sort of like how D'Onofrio was running 3-4 defense and once Diaz came in with the 4-3 **** changed.

I am getting to the point that I hate Richt so much that I am starting to pull for Duke to win Saturday night.

Well, you can officially take away your Cane "fan" card then. I don't care what is going on with the coaching. I will never ever wish our team a loss. I always want to win even if it's the ugliest game ever.

Also true.

I've lost ALL respect for Ambien Rick. This is an atrocity. Absolutely disheartening and beyond embarrassing the **** that comes out of this shell of a man's mouth.

Jarrod Goff was the biggest bust in NFL history after year 1. Now he is a stud. The offensive play calling is garbage. Plain and simple. Kosi TD passes to Brevin are beautiful from FSU and FIU, the seams to Harley and Thomas are beautiful, the TD to Langham against UNC was perfect. How this kid isn't playing, and Richt building an offense behind his strengths is mind boggling. IMO, he is creating this fiasco based on not playing Perry.
