Pete,

Was there times in this scrimmage that we have 3 traditional LB or at least 2 LB and JW on the field at once?

Or was it always 2 LB and a star db?
JW will be at safety on the field with the 2 LB and the star in the 4-2-5. Guidry mentioned he is trying to figure out if/when they need to play a base defense of 4-3 wether to play JW at olb or bring in a traditional LB

NOT from yesterday, but an example of what A Allen can do with a competent OL.

don't think nebraska had a competent oline ... i was hesitant on this guy as he had never done it against d1 guys ala chaney ... but i have to admit his legend is growing

So let him prove he can stay healthy for a full season & actually be productive before everybody starts crowning him.
Textbook hating. Everybody else building him up so you have to be the contrarian tearing him down. Why don't you let fans root for who they want? If he doesn't live up to it, people will bash him & move on.

He was highly rated & showed some flashes early & since then, has been mostly unavailable. It's not hard to see why fans would have hope or even certain expectations of that player & it happens with certain players every recruiting cycle.

Nobody should be throwing Parrish on the trash heap. That's stupid. But you being triggered by the Don love is equally stupid.

He has a point about health. If we get him for a full season regardless of production, that surpasses my expectations. Guys usually don’t just become healthy after this many injuries consistently

Agree completely. And if his point was just about health I wouldn't have responded. But I mean any conversation about Cheney at this point is had with knowledge of his injury history. So when people are speaking on expectations/hopes of Don I read it with an imaginary disclaimer of "if healthy".

I appreciate the fact you are pro-Chaney like me. I personally believe he's the best RB we have on roster by far if he can just stay healthy.

But I think you misinterpreted what Memnon wrote. He wasn't hating on Chaney, just saying Parrish has produced whereas Don hasn't. I've never seen Memnon criticize a recruit or player, tbh.

If Chaney isn't available, he isn't even the last choice in RB room.

Jake Garcia's name has to be mentioned here. I know a lot of folks dont think he was worth much but he would have provided the perfect QB2 - QB3 battle partner for Emory Williams. In my opinion the staff failed on this one by listing Jacurri Brown as QB2 at the end of the season. As well, the marketplace seemed to value Garcia as he went to an SEC school and is in contention for the starting job.
I was the biggest Jake fan. I still think he would have been the starter with Rhett if he hadn’t got hurt and had to to sit out that week TVD went off. L

Having said that last year he lost all confidence (due to terrible scheme) and wasn’t the same player. The coaches really had no choice but to list him behind JB down the stretch.

How is me saying he needs to prove it first hating???

The point I was making was people are already putting him ahead of RB’s who have produced & basing it on nothing.

Parrish gets hated more than any other player on this team, while simultaneously being the most productive back we have, juxtaposed to people talking about Chaney as if he’s actually done something in his career when he hasn’t at all.

If I was hating, I wouldn’t have said he needs to prove it, I would’ve said he’s just an overrated JAG that can barely every stay healthy & isn’t worthy of the hype. Me saying he needs to prove it first actually gives the opportunity for him to prove it.

As far as “letting fans root for who they want”, I’m not stop anybody from doing anything, I simply countered a narrative that I keep seeing repeated about 2 players that are unwarranted.

The only thing stupid is you not understanding the context of my comments & then trying to tell me I’m hating when I was literally as high on Chaney as any on the board coming out of HS. I’m not “triggered” by Chaney love because I’m not anti-Chaney, I’m pro logic & it’s illogical to elevate a player that’s been injured his entire career & hasn’t produced over someone who has been available & has been productive. Prematurely hoping that Chaney overtakes Chaney is the same as saying, “I hope Emory Williams ends up starting over TVD!” That’s stupid.

Only one person interpreted what I said that way, the rest of yall got it clear.

Nothing I said was hating or “anti-Chaney”; & funny enough people in their attempts to hope that Chaney takes over at RB1 routinely spew anti-Parrish narratives out there, which is exactly why I said what I said in the first place.

Maybe Chaney is absolutely the best RB on the team & Elite 1,000yd caliber rusher, but guess what? There’s no evidence to support that claim, so if people are pushing a narrative about a player that has no basis in reality while simultaneously trying to downgrade another player that actually has produced, someone (in this case it happened to be me), is going to point out the inconsistency in logic.

Otherwise, what’s the difference between saying Brian Balom is a better Safety than Kam Kinchens & should start ahead of him?

We needed a backup qb for sure but if brown gets a shirt and Emory is the primary backup is it possible when Emory gets the backup job handed to him he never is behind brown again? Is brown asking for a shirt so he’s a better portal option for another team? Seems he’d do well in a malzahn system cause plumlee also can’t throw
