Roman Marciante joins the show with an in-depth breakdown of the Canes QBs. This one is worth a listen.

QB talk with Roman Marciante
Great show, D. Need to have Roman on more. His analysis of Perry and Williams has me much less concerned about our QB situation. Knowing we have capable arms to challenge Rosier or step up if he isn’t performing at a high enough level can at least back us fans away from the ledge and wait to see how it pans out.

Would be interested to know what Roman thought contributed to Malik's inaccuracy and how it could be corrected.

Some stride inconsistency leads to some Arm drag at times.

Finding the throwing lanes a bit better. Some unnecessary batted balls in that regard.

I've caught him over rotating on deep balls. He's really one the only QBs I see do this quirk where he steps completely over his body with his back foot this facing in an opposite direction.

Just to name a few.

I enjoyed lighting a cigar and listening to the podcast .Roman provided a pro analyst of the skills needed and defined for a top college quarterback and then gives us his professional insights of Rosier,Perry ,and Williams.I have a clear perspective on what will determine our qb starter now and in the future .Thanx

Outstanding, DMoney. Detailed and thoughtful.

My hope is that Rosier improves enough (wins plus 60% accuracy) to hold the job. Then, in ‘19 we will see the mother of all QB battles among:

Perry
Weldon (can’t forget him)
Williams
And hopefully, Michael Johnson Jr.

Spring and fall camps would be awesome.

Awesome podcast. Really great content.

Oh, and Maryland wasn’t the reason Jacory was gun shy...

I've never been a fan of true freshmen starting at QB. Hated it with Kaaya. Was against it with Jacory and Marve (can't even imagine starting Robert Marve over Kyle Wright now, for all Wright's issues). Was against it with Perry last year.

BUT ... I'm convinced that Jarren Williams is the exception. Accuracy, quick thinking and decision making, athletically ready, heady, puts in the work with trainers and film. If Perry stumbles, I would have zero concern. And one of those two must be our starter exiting September, not Rosier. Start Malik for LSU, put the others in on a series or two, and then increase snaps for the one who proves more prepared.

Roman, you mention how loaded the Georgia high school QBs are with Fromm, Lawrence, fields, Bailey and Johnson. Could you rank and maybe give your thoughts on the main 6 qbs from last year? Fields, Lawrence, jarren, Emory jones, Bailey and Max Johnson? Curious how you would stack them up

Our **** poor coaching from back in the day ruined a whole bunch of QB careers

Didn’t you have a post where you went into this in detail?

Roman, I think I got an idea for a podcast or maybe a youtube video-

Compare our top 3/4 qbs MECHANICALLY to the top 3/4 Qbs on whichever the top teams in the country are, lets say Clemson, Bama, etc.. or maybe our best opponent.

Look at things like accuracy, mechanics, stance/pocket presence etc... just go off of spring film.

This way we can see for certain if there is a visible talent drop off - OR - we are putting too much stock in the QB position and should be worrying about having the best offensive and defensive lines.

All I know is when we were *** pounding competition in the early 2000s we didn't have much at QB. Kenny was good, but hes always had a noodle arm and we still beat everyone to death.

Call this an engineering experiment, 'Does having an elite QB mean you are more apt to make the playoffs?'

My hope is that Williams wins the job in the fall and has a very good freshman campaign. Then in 19 we enter the season with a top 5 ranking.

Great podcast! Coaching is really big in a players development!!! Love the insight, as Im in complete agreement. I believe, like I mentioned in other post, that's what happened to several young men how were really dedicated to the game, but our ishtty coaching took it away!
