For me, it'd be Matthew Thomas #1 and Duke #2.

Lu, D$, and Pete.

Out of Pete's Top 20, can you give us the 5 players you feel most confident about committing to UM?

Other than the players that are already committed.

Carter, Burns, Grace, Clark, Lane

Duke was the perfect Miami recruit. Miami kid, loves The U, and recruited for us. If he gets it done on the field he could be a legend. I hope he does.

As for Sony, he's still super young and even young NFL guys come back stronger after knee injuries. Now, IDK what kind of rehab and medical services he might be getting compared to college or NFL guys, but I would hope it would be about the same. Hopefully, they take it easy with him for his futures sake.

Pete, not sure if you would know. However, out of Cooke and Yearby which one is being recruited by the staff more if at all. Are they pursuing anyone else besides those two or Sony at the moment?

I think the focus is on Sony. Last I heard, Yearby wasn't in contact with the staff and he is all FSU. Not completely sure on Cook, but I could see him decommitting from Clemson at some point

i agree with your top 50..besides from chucky being ranked so low.. and i believe darling should be either 1...or 2...

Really exciting future in SoFla. I really want that DT Clark

Sony Michel had already accumulated a lot of wear and tear by the end of his freshman year. Not playing football for over one year actually helps him out - shame that it came at the expense of an ACL.

I agree with this as well and as long as his surgery and rehab went well he could be stronger in the long run.

I don't buy into the idea of kids that are elite athletes being affected by the "wear and tear" of HS football.

In college, sure. In the NFL, most definitely. In HS, they are physically superior to almost everyone else on the field, even if they are getting tackled often, it's not that serious. Sony was getting less run than HS players that go both ways.

I realize they're not getting hit as hard as they will in college, it's still a lot of carries when you see kids starting in 8-9th grade. That's going to be over a 1,000 carries in their HS career.

I get you. I just don't think it is an issue. Often when a HS team has a stud RB, they end up making him their offense and go as far as he can take them. That is VERY common. With that, I'm not sure I can think of examples of a major prospect seemingly being worn out entering college due to his workload at the HS level.

Its not just the contact, its the wear and tear on joints. I played a million years of baseball growing up, a relatively non-contact and non-cardio sport, but I have wear and tear in my knees and shoulders from it. But I think its more likely to shorten his future NFL career than affect college performance.
