Lu, D$, and Pete.

Out of Pete's Top 20, can you give us the 5 players you feel most confident about committing to UM?

Other than the players that are already committed.

That's where I step out of the way and let these other guys chime in. They either know people or talk to the players. Almost all information I have is typically 2nd hand information.

If you want my guess before these other guys jump in with more legitimate perspectives re: destinations, I'd say Bryant, Burns, Grace, Clark and Darling would be the 5 choices. Guys like Collins and Carter may each want to come here in the worst way, but I'm always weary of poor grades, switching schools or the like.

Very interesting list. Seems like most of the DL talent is at DT, not DE. That's a lil surprising....

Lu, how do you feel Coley and Lane compare with Sammy Watkins coming out of HS?

Also, I'm in full agreement about Likely. I know the 5'7" frame is not desirable, but that kid just MAKES PLAYS.

Sony is going to have to show he is healthy to regain that mythical status he once had, so I don't blame you for putting him a little lower.

Just hope he stays healthy because he has the potential to be as good as anyone in the country, let alone the state.

I agree with this. Hopefully the rehab went well and he comes back stronger than he was.

Gun to my head, I take Alex Collins over Yearby. I also don't even consider Sony a top guy until we see him post-knee injury. There's a lot of projection on that list, yet Sony is being credited for his previous status. While some of those highlights look great, take a look at who's playing Safety and LB for the opponents in those clips. There are some really overmatched guys.

Based off your list of 50, here's how I'd rearrange my South Florida top 10:

1. Matthew Thomas
2. Alex Collins
3. Joey Bosa
4. Khairi Clark
5. Ermon Lane
6. Keith Bryant
7. Mcdermott
8. Stacey Coley
9. Trevor Darling
T-10. Artie Burns
T-10. Jermaine Grace

A LB pull of Thomas and Grace would be sick, especially after the group of kids we just brought in.

Wish we could change Bosa's mind, kid is an animal, absolutely loved his film.

Collins this high on the list has me a excited as well, can't wait to see him and Duke do their thing.

If healthy, I gotta say Sony is #1. The kid is ridiculous. The speed seperates him from everyone else. DBC said he will win the heisman his freshman year too...so tifwiw

Where would guys like Duke, Bush, and Howard fall on this list?

Are there any videos of j.carter playing safety, all i see him doing is returning the ball?

Is it me, or does it seem like we are in the race for all of the Miami kids, whereas years past, we weren't even in the picture?

Sony Michel had already accumulated a lot of wear and tear by the end of his freshman year. Not playing football for over one year actually helps him out - shame that it came at the expense of an ACL.

I agree with this as well and as long as his surgery and rehab went well he could be stronger in the long run.

I don't buy into the idea of kids that are elite athletes being affected by the "wear and tear" of HS football.

In college, sure. In the NFL, most definitely. In HS, they are physically superior to almost everyone else on the field, even if they are getting tackled often, it's not that serious. Sony was getting less run than HS players that go both ways.

I realize they're not getting hit as hard as they will in college, it's still a lot of carries when you see kids starting in 8-9th grade. That's going to be over a 1,000 carries in their HS career.

I get you. I just don't think it is an issue. Often when a HS team has a stud RB, they end up making him their offense and go as far as he can take them. That is VERY common. With that, I'm not sure I can think of examples of a major prospect seemingly being worn out entering college due to his workload at the HS level.

Coley is a beast, wish he could get his grades and other issues straightened out.

I think Duke would be #1, barring some freakazoid like Willie Williams or Frank Gore being in the county at the same time. Howard would be Top 5, Bush probably top 10-15. Gun to your head, if you could only have one, you probably take Duke over Lane or Thomas.
