So the consensus is Allison is an afterthought???

I am not sure I see anything that screams he will just walk in and move right up our depth charts. I like what I see here don't get me wrong. I like Perry and am very happy to have him.
However, I think Jack is the future still. Kid has a plus arm, and so long as he has a good feel for the offense, I would think he will be the next in line. Is Perry going to any all star games? Would be nice to see him in one of those. If nothing else he will be great as a freshman on the scout team when we prep for the teams with running qbs. Great pick up by the staff. And hopefully he proves me wrong, comes in a dominates.

I love Perry as well, but y'all sleep on Cade Weldon. That boy ain't afraid of competition and he did not come here to ride the bench. Do not annoint Perry as the future yet. Let's see an all out war of a qb competition between Perry, Allison, Weldon, and even Sheriffs before we draw conclusions based off a highlight tape; we all know how that mentality has worked out for us lately.

I like both Weldon and Perry's tape more than Allison's coming out of HS to be honest

**Update**

Just went back and watched Allison's....I take my comment back. Its hard to tell which has the better film. Allison throws the prettiest ball of the 3, Nkosi and Weldon will make things happen on the ground as well as with their arm.

Conclusion - We're good at QB for a while....Those 3 and add in Shireffs should make for a nice QB competition after Kaaya leaves

from that tape IMHO he has a long way to go. I see a kid sitting back in shotgun, not reading progressions and throwing to spots.

That's basically all modern day college football is. Shotgun, single reads, RPO, read option, tuck it and run.

Exactly. These cats think this is the NFL. If he can gain some weight and kaaya leaves he will play next year

kind surprised its so hard to find a good QB though now that I know thats all there is to it.....
but **** I didn't know that's all there was to it!! ya in that case ya brad GTFOH kick rocks!

given the elapsed time for the actual plays...I'd guess his low lights are about 45 seconds. Great get.

He throws great slants which a lot of current QBs struggle with.

His arm strength is impressive, but it doesn't look like he plants and puts his body into a lot of throws when he has the time to do it. Can anyone shed light on his mechanics?

They're not perfect by any means, but much of it will get cleaned up, and if it doesn't that's fine too because his strength is his feel for the game. He is exactly the type of quarterback who can do enough when a play develops poorly to get you to 2nd and 6 instead of 2nd and 18.

It's not hard. Teams today are putting up more and more points. Defense continues to just die a slow death. More and more freshmen continue to come in and make an immediate impact. And that's because the offenses have been scaled down. QB's are asked to do less in terms of their progressions. So it's become a kind of "plug and play" world at QB.

I just don't see him winning the job by coming in during the summer.
