Garvin was my favorite recruit in the class, at least on D. He's going to turn a lot of heads next fall.
Well he and Gaynor were very clearly the biggest steals in the class.
Most likely on the other side of the defensive line.Random question. Seems like J Garvin is too good to redshirt so where does that leave DJ Johnson when he pulls up?

In terms of being able to play above scouting expectations (ratings) I agree. But I think a lot of us fans liked what we saw early on with these two. And there are a lot of kids in this class that are steals. Perry for example didn't get the ratings he deserved either. I expect several to make big contributions to the season as true freshmen, starting with Donaldson, Thomas, Carter, Bandy and hopefully Perry. Cannot wait.

True but on what the 3rd team? Cause the 2nd unit seems already set..
either way we got a lot of depth on the DL and that's a great problem to have [emoji1487]
I have to disagree on Colbert being a better pro than Corn. I think Corn is slept on tremendously. Dude knows how to play football. Colbert has better measurebes but give me Corn the football player all day

I just think playing CB in the NFL is about traits.
Brandon Harris and Sam Shields are an example. Harris was an awesome college player - a third team All-American - but his lack of size and elite speed doomed him in the pros. Shields, on the other hand, basically learned on the job and made plays because his speed was so special.
Colbert is 6'2, 210 with 4.4 speed and decent feet. He's still pretty new to corner and has a good attitude. The arrow is pointing up.
With that said, I still think Corn will find his niche because he's such a great football player and winner. He was a killer here.

I don't think we should redshirt DJ Johnson barring injury. If an out-of-state big timer isn't playing, there is a very real chance that he will transfer.
It's the same thing with kids who are character risks (DJ's character is good from everything I hear, just making an example). If they have ability but the position is loaded, get them playing on special teams to keep
Makes sense logically but sure would like some data that supports this opinion.

Really? A 5-star kid going to school literally on the other side of the country is told he won't play at all as a true freshman... what else do you need? These kids have careers on the line and talent to burn, when you're that good and you know it, you don't want to be told to wait.
