Somehow the time Richt had to recruit keeps shrinking according to our fans. "He only had 34 minutes to recruit!"

He held on to most of the class and landed some new guys. He also lost the most important player, and his DB hire netted terrible early returns. I'd say overall did a pretty good job for a transition class. B-.

2017 is the year he better EAT.

Richt has done very well considering the entire staff from top to bottom was replaced. Alsmot unheard of.

Al Golden and Randy Shannon had their best classes in year #2 .

I suspect Richt will far exceed anything those morons did.

FSU racking up and we stumbling to the finish
All the kids seen for the last 5 years is a soft D. After this year once they see us playing attacking style D they will come. We will beat fsu next year you watch

I'm excited about Richt...but he didn't make the recruiting splash I expected. Disappointing, really. 2017 has to deliver.

guy had 2 weeks.

He got romeo finely, who openly said we didn't have a shot before.
He got Bruce to stay
He got Zach McCloud
He got Patrick bethel
He got malek young
He will get Ahmmon Richards
He got Jon ford (2017 4* DL)
He got latrell williams

Literally wtf are you people who say he didn't make a splash thinking? He had less than a month total not including the dead period.

Only negative is Byrd and Byrd was leaving no matter who was the head coach and that's a fact

And Jovani Haskins. No way Richt knows that Byrd flipping was a premeditated move to hurt the U because his bro didn't get an offer.

I see Finley, Bethel, Young and Williams as adds. The rest were in place by previous staff. I realize he had limited time...just hoped he had a bigger splash as many big time hires do. As I said, 2017 needs to deliver.

exactly. in basically 2 weeks he added bethel, young, and finley all 4 stars. locked up mccloud and bruce. also picked up martin and williams. not bad. we lost byrd but got 3 4 star kids.

How can you not be excited about this class?Studs at every skill position. Richt brought in an entire new staff and was able to keep a bunch of great local guys.
What exactly were your expectations? SMH

I agree with this. We missed on a couple positions (CB and DT) but other than that, we laid the foundation for the next 4 years. Future QB, RB, WR core, TE and LB's are off the charts. This class is the beginning of great things at Miami.

Desmond Phillips, fast dude that was projected at WR. I like the Hamilton kid. The kid who left his team and went to Jax. Also a CB. I just think we need DB's and we had didn't get the guys we had. Obviously the Byrd situation hurts. But thats out of their control. Its not like I claimed they were potential studs, but possibly guys that could have helped here. But if we go out and sign 33 high quality guys then so be it. Not mad with the class, but not exactly blown away either. I think maybe losing Byrd just kind of knocked some of the shine off for me.

Richards will be here, we would of lost Bruce too if Golden was still here

Golden lost Byrd

If you can't see that then Idk what else to say. I'm not even making excuses, its common info.

Cfa liked Miami and we had four RB's commited at the time so we cooled on him (not to mention lost 3 of the 4). Byrd and Cfa were most probably always gonna be a package deal

richt also dropped "al golden specials" u all hated.

Stop whining about this class. if you expected a top ten finish then you're an idiot.

Smh signing day is like Christmas for these lame negative posters. They see other kids get shiny new toys that weren't ever in play for us and all of a sudden they want them too or now our class sucks

Best wr class here in a decade (each of three best in three counties)
Best lb class here in a decade
Top 10 rb
Top 10 qb
Top 20 te in haskins
Two legit 4* defensive ends
Grabbed a top 15 safety late
All American in Malek young

10 espn 300 commits so far not including Ahmmon Richards later

So during a ****** season and coaching change

Lets get over the "who" lost Byrd. He's gone thats all that matters. Lets focus this thread on guys who are here. The staff has actually gotten some good dudes. I like the CB they did get, I like the TE, they went out and found an OL and a DT. Which are areas of need. Its easy to look at what we don't have or who someone else got, but all we can do is be happy for the guys that are here. If this staff recruits for a full year they way they did this last month? I think we will all be happy come NSD'17
