Miami Predicted To Land Elite RB Myson Johnson-Cook

Miami is potentially in the driver’s seat for one of the best running backs in the nation.

Four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook out of East St. Louis (IL) has been projected to land at Miami. According to On3’s Allen Trieu, he projects the Hurricanes to land the 6-foot-1, 220-pound running back.

Various recruiting ranking sites have rated Myson as a four-star prospect. 247Sports lists him as the 74th-best player in the 2027 class, the 4th-best running back, and the 3rd-best player in Illinois.

Teams like Missouri, Oregon, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, and Illinois, along with many other top schools, are also heavily pursuing the four-star recruit.

Myson just recently got off a Miami visit from this past weekend, where CanesInSight’s Sebastian Font caught up with him. You can check out more there on how he liked the Hurricanes visit. However, the On3 staff said it was enough to project him toward Miami.

Myson had a productive junior season. He finished his junior year at East St. Louis High School with 126 carries for 1,341 yards, averaging 10.6 yards per carry, along with 20 touchdowns. He also caught three passes for a total of 45 yards. As a sophomore, he ran for 911 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 10.4 yards per carry. He also caught four passes for 27 yards and one touchdown. He helped DeSoto to an 11–3 record and a Texas 6A D-II state quarterfinal appearance.

They got Haven Fields from Palmetto too. He was undersized and UM wasn't recruiting him hard but he ended up having a good career at Auburn.

The job of the agent is to earn as much money for the client as possible, (and themselves in the process). An agent who does not is committing malpractice. Of course the client can tell the agent not to shop around, but its pretty silly yo do so.

This is capitalism/free market at its finest. And anyone who disagrees with this is a communist in my book. And that goes for any and everyone who tries to limit compensation.

It’s a nice college town if you are into that type of scenery. Not every kid wants to be in Miami or a big city.

Been doing it longer than that. Charles Barkley said he took a paycut when he left Auburn for the NBA lol

I went there on a recruiting trip in 1983 (yeah, I'm old AF) and boosters were standing outside as we were leaving handing out 100 dollar bills to every recruit as we walked by. Nothing secret about it
