He’s also a really good recruiter. We can split hairs with the “elite” word all we want. But he’s inarguably a good recruiter. Sales is a skill. He’s good at it. He demands his staff be good at it, and supplant that with maximum effort. The talent will always be here with him. It’s literally his main skill. Maybe his only skill. But the floor will always be high with him.

The 2026 safety attends Manhattan High just miles from Kansas State, but after taking his time with the recruiting process and exploring his options, the talented junior committed to Kansasover Nebraska, Stanford and Kansas State at the Under Armour All-America game.
“It came down to a battle between K-State and KU,” Dunnigan told On3. “K-State is the hometown school and where my father played at it, but KU came in, rolled the red carpet out, showed us their plan and the Jayhawks just nudged K-State with Nebraska a great school being third.”
This has been said consistently since 2007 and yet never happened consistently until now
History is not on your side in this assessment. Now you can argue that Coker, Shannon, Golden, Richt and Diaz did not have the resources that mario currently has, and you would be correct. But we had such a run of mediocre to poor recruiting that to take recruiting as a given is not a position supported by history.

And the only legit coach was Richt, and he was washed up by the time we got him. Had we gotten Richt at 10-15 years younger, he'd at least have a conference championship. He had an appearance in his second season, Mario in his 4th season with better talent doesn't even have an appearance

To me he seems to fill the big Nickel role that Kelonte Scott is playing no? Everyone around the program loves the physicality he (Scott) brings to the position, this kid seems like a good prospect to eventually replace him.

Kansas St is ranked 60 in recruiting and their best commitment is 489 overall. I’m not sure what the point is here? You really think they didn’t want this player?
