Miami lands 2026 DB JJ Dunnigan

The Miami Hurricanes have landed an elite secondary piece, securing the commitment of 2026 DB JJ Dunnigan.

The top-100 player was committed to Kansas originally, before decommitting just a few weeks ago as Miami shot up right to the top of his list.

At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Dunnigan is an extremely instinctive safety who flies around the field making plays.

He’s got plus range and pairs his track speed with physicality down field, seeking contact.
In addition, Dunnigan is extremely versatile. He’s played across multiple positions in the secondary quite well and is able to slot in wherever he’s needed.

Miami beat out the likes of Colorado among others for Dunnigan, and will look to hopefully pair him with another safety in the 2026 class.

Dunnigan becomes the 26th commit in Miami’s growing 2026 class, joining the likes of Camdin Portis, Jaelen Waters, Brody Jennings, Jontavius Wyman and Cortez Redding in the secondary room.

Expect more names to land soon.

its the same youth team and friend circle of zayquan patterson, cj ewald, vince chavers (nebraska) etc. that i told dmoney about when they were 10 year olds. lol

They had interest last off szn. I grew up and went to hs with his family members.

That’s him. I think he plays Free safety for them but I like him in the box, blitzing and in Nickel here.

he was always an lb or fb through youth ball and in high school...he made the safety transition inc ollege so he would be really good in the box and aint scared to drop a hat.

Hes from Carver Ranches (Hollywood). same area of Avery Huff, Kevin Knowles(fsu) Bryant Mcfadden (fsu)...and where Mali Toney played youth ball at.
