A lot of us seem to be accustomed to the past 15+ years of average to below average oline recruiting and development. Too tall for guard must have gone over Saban’s and Mario’s head.

Bama has for the most part exclusively recruited tackles and put them inside and if they develop well and beat out their teammates, they get moved out.

Evan Neal began his career at Bama as a left guard. And the only reason he actually played as a freshman was because the starter got injured.
He finished his career at tackle and was the number 7 overall pick and is likely gonna be back from injury at right tackle.

Penei Sewel started at Left tackle in college and is now right tackle at the motor city.

We arguably have the best dudes in the country when it comes to the position group we are talking about. And that includes all levels from evaluation, recruitment, and development.

Level of concern, worry, and anxiety when it comes to oline should be at Blutarsky level.

And for you youngins, Blutarsky level is 0.0

Wait, why're some of you writing off Samson? Just because he was a 5 star doesn't mean that he has to be ready in the first year or two.
He will be ready the following year. I liked Francis over him as a prospect. My only thing was is he strong enough? And when someone else like Francis is starting and Bain it tells you they have grown man strength cause they are seeing the field immediately. That’s my proof for me at least. Doesn’t mean he’s a jag but when a dude comes in and plays it tells you something. Coaches see them everyday

Facts

Nothing but facts

Yeah I don’t know to me Mauigoa makes sense as a guard and could be dominating so that could open up

LT Bell
LG Mauigoa
C Lee or someone
RG Anez
RT Samson

Leaves McCoy and Kinsler as the next 2 which is obviously amazing if they stay after not potentially starting again (McCoy more than Kinsler)

McCoy is starting if Cohen and Rivers are gone. No way his on the bench. McCoy next man up

Would be nice if Mccoy could play C for us next year,he's too talented to be a back up.He will also be going into his 3rd year here and I can see some schools start tampering to get him to transfer.

I wouldn't worry about McCoy since he will be starting if Cohen is gone

This kid is MASSIVE. Looks to be a really good player. Huge pickup!

You make a great experienced post , our OL to be versatile so very important.
This versitilaty will play dividends at Miami and NFL.
Rotation of these beasts in spring so very important.

GOCANES
Could you imaging this guy, cooper and kinsler at G, holy ****.

6’8 340 killing people off the edge.
4 star lol. Even if they have the measurables they drop them.

Everyone saying that Bain didn’t get his fifth star because he didn’t have the measurables is full of crap.
He didn’t get a fifth star because he committed here plain and simple.

There’s a recruit this year that is roughly his same build-they have as a 5 star- when asked why given he doesn’t have freakish measurables 247 (Ivins?) said production.

Yet they didn’t do it for Bain. It’s comical.

He would have got that Bama bump to a 5star

Facts. I was just talking about the trenches.

Landing elite prospects on both lines makes it easier to tolerate our horrendous and woeful recruitment at CB - and QB for that matter.
We can never have multiple nice things! It's either cb(rumph), wr(Stubblefield),lb, DT(joe), now QB(Dawson)!

It's maddening, but our reality. Hope for the best, my brother. That's all we can do.
