Miami-Arkansas State cancelled

The decision was made this morning to cancel Miami-Arkansas State on Saturday due to travel concerns stemming from Hurricane Irma.

The team was told this morning of the decision. Sources told CanesInSight that the concern from UM's side was travel plans to get back to Miami following the Saturday afternoon game. One possibility that was internally discussed was having the team stay in Atlanta for the week leading up to a Florida State, but the school decided that this was the best course of action.

Arkansas state fans do have every right to be upset because in all honesty it does look like we're ducking them. FIU and fau are both playing this week. The ASU A.D just said he would do anything to accommodate us but we refused. Oh well we're on to FSU at least now they do not have much tape on us

Why would we duck a tuneup away game, where we're prohibitive favorites, in s hostile environment that would get us better prepared for FSU.

I understand saying the decision was premature but nobody's ducking those hillbillies. That's not the reason.

They better be prepared and they better beat FSU, talking like that. I don't think many fans will be supporting their decision to skip practices and tune-up games if they show up in Tallahassee and they don't look ready to play.

I know this fanbase. They'll be ****ed... and they'll turn on those guys.

If we lose to FSU again when the game has been basically giftwrapped for us... this fanbase will lose their collective ****.

And NOBODY is going to accept "clouds," in whatever form they come, as an excuse.

I don't see why we couldn't play on friday to be honest

that gives plenty of time to get back and handle w/e business is needed for everyone

if the hurricane does in fact slam into miami, the fields are gonna be so wet to the point of just exactly how many days of practice are they even gonna get?

What happens if you play Friday but then can't get back to Miami? This isn't the NFL these kids aren't getting paid to do a job.

Pay wont be much 30000 seat stadium probably cheaper ticket prices. Hurts our image but helps the football team avoid injury before FSU.

I look at it the other way.... the U is a Family...and that includes everyone associated with the program in someway. We won't put you in harms way... and look out for every ones best interest.. We might even do so in the face of ridicule in order for our U Family to be safe.

Extra study practice time, extra time to get healthy, extra time to get fresh, one leas game on film for FSU, oh & we don't have to blame in bum **** that we shouldnt have been playing to begin with...Sounds more like Richts decision then Flake.
