Coral Gables, FLA.-- Moments ago, the University of Miami announced that the Hurricanes will host an open scrimmage against Vanderbilt on Friday, October 23rd. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. EST.
It'll be a new-look Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball team entering Year 2 of the Jai Lucas era in the 305. The 'Canes return sophomores Shelton Henderson and Dante Allen, while bringing 12 new faces into the locker room through the Transfer Portal, high school recruiting and international recruiting.
This open scrimmage against one of the SEC's more underrated squads should serve as a solid early benchmark for Miami. The Hurricanes will get a chance to compete against another team, get some live-game reps and begin building the chemistry that simply can't be replicated in practice.
