When you’ve had as much success in your high school career as Jackson Cantwell, and are named one of
the top 100 athletes of the 21st century, it’s clear to say that the Miami Hurricanes are getting a straight DOG.

According to a recent MaxPreps ranking of the top 100 high school players of the 21st century, Miami offensive line commit Jackson Cantwell landed at No. 80 on the list.

The 6-foot-8, 325-pound athlete has long arms measuring 33.5 inches and explosive power through his hands. He stands out in the shot put and was named the 2023-24 Gatorade Missouri Boys Track & Field Player of the Year. His dad was a five-time world champion in shot put and competed in the Olympics. His mom was also an Olympic thrower.

Cantwell made 158 pancake blocks in 14 games and helped one of the best offensive lines in the area gain 3,710 rushing yards.

Here is what MaxPreps has to say about the five-star offensive lineman:

Although he still has a year left in high school, Cantwell has already snagged MaxPreps Male Athlete of the Year honors. During the 2024-25 year, he earned state MVP honors in football as an offensive and defensive lineman and had the nation's best mark in the shot put.

Pretty cool. Did MaxPreps do this list prior to 21st century?

Joe Mauer should have been #1. He was the top-ranked player nationally in football and baseball, and was all-state in basketball.
My cousin dated him in high school, he was special special

He was committed to FSU at QB when they were at their peak

Only struck out 1 time in his high school career, switch hitting phenom

He could of been a professional in Baseball, Basketball, or Football

Cantwell is honestly too low on the list. Top recruit along with a record breaker in his track event. If we are only talking high school here then he’s way too low. For example Jeremiah smith was very good on the track and very good on the field. Cantwell is very good on the field and elite on the track. Seems he should be above no?

Great call back
Amazing to think Minnesota has given us two of the best complete athletes ever

See Dave Winfield getting drafted in 3 professional sports.

Danny Ainge is still the only person in history to be first team All American in Football Basketball and Baseball

Pat Mahomes at 2 is a joke. Shouldn't even crack the top 100
