Two things have to happen:
--Improve the pass rush to help the DBs.
--The O needs to pour it on to build big leads. (We scored 45 vs Stanford and the first string O only played two-thirds of the game.)

Plus: Maybe move one of the safeties or nickels to CB.

Half of you on here are dooming and ****ing yourselves about playing WAKE FOREST on a Friday night. Come on guys get a grip. Sucks being down guys but next man up. Not to mention our O is built for this.

if xavier lucas actually is hurt too we are in deep, deep trouble. and even if he isn't, we need to pray that one of the young guys steps up and takes damari's spot. because he ain't it.
This is a young team. Very talented, but the least experienced of any of Mario’s teams.

70% of you on this board are absolutely insufferable. Acting like it’s the end of the world that we’re down guys in the DB room. Somehow now our schedule is a gauntlet according to some here and now “nothing can be taken for granted.”

Nothing was being taken for granted to begin with, get a grip. We have an O that’s gonna put monster numbers and points on teams. And our D will be fine. Not elite hut they don’t need to be right now.

It is certainly not the end of the world, but being without multiple starters in the defensive concern and it will make
us vulnerable going forward against everyone except FAMU.
But agree a little on your insufferable comment with regards to people making tons of post about this topic.
It is what it is.
Let's hope the young guys step up.
It's their time.

if you had to get there social security number or real injury update most coach’s would give social number. No idea why most aren’t honest with injuries.

Preaching to the choir and I’ve said this for 20 years but it really drives me insane.

There is no competitive disadvantage to just being transparent. We have an injury report now, they know he’s out. They watched him get hurt. They know WHAT he hurt. The NFL will get every single detail of his medical report. It doesn’t benefit a single thing or person to just not be transparent. Other programs do, and they win just fine. Not one molecule of one game will be won/lost by being secretive with what the injury is, and it won’t impact his potential pro ability in the least bit. Really wild we still do this stupid ****.

Didn’t we get to the natty last year despite OJ being hurt for most of the playoffs?

Our offense was built for this in 2024...

Poor technique caused the injury. Diving with his shoulder. Hopefully he’s back sooner than later.

We don't need CBs looking to lay the wood to tight ends any more than we'd want QB's trying to cut-block defensive linemen.

Some folks mock cover corners for not hitting anybody, but why should they take that risk? Just push the guy with the ball out of bounds or slow him down enough til the linebackers or safeties can finish the deal.

You're saying nonsense here.
Coaches prepare and implement game plans based on who is going to play.
Are you denying this to be true?
If Mensah, Toney or multiple starters at a particular positional group are not available, and
opposing coaches would know, it wouldn't affect their approach to the game?
You're a smart dude, you don't believe this nonsense.
You're just frustrated because you're not getting the information and, I agree, it's frustrating
but this is not an overriding concern of coaches.

Wishing him a speedy and healthy recovery. The DB room is one of the strengths of this team. We have plenty of talent at this position to collectively replace OJ until he can return.

Definitely not ideal, but if this is going to happen, I'm glad it's now. Mario's recruited very well and the schedule does allow for some leeway to get the younger players some burn. The offense will still be able to put up points, forcing our opponents to have to keep up. The concern is valid, but I think we'll be fine.

Our O has a higher ceiling now than what it had in 2024. Our D, at its current level, it’s miles better talent wise and schematically.
We had the #1 offense in the country in 2024 and lost 3 games. Posters underestimate our schedule every season for 2 decades. I don't think it is unreasonable for posters to discuss the injuries to our secondary without catching **** for it.

Is there any CB's that have an approved TRO and didnt sign with an NFL team we could bring in?
