I had a 3rd degree separated shoulder snowboarding and that was no joke. End of my collarbone was raised up at the shoulder and I could barely get a shirt on by myself. Thats 50/50 surgery but for a professional athlete you probably want it to get back to 100%. I chose rehab and it took months before I was anywhere near the same, much less able to play football. Anything above that will require surgery to reconstruct and realign the AC joint, collarbone etc. Cant imagine coming back from that and hitting people in 6 weeks so hopefully its a grade I or more likely II.

Let's also not forget that Mario Cristobal is Miami's HC- in his mind a player missing even one game in the season is considered a "significant amount of time."

Goddamnit, Trinton Breeze did a HORRIBLE job of listening, summarizing, and regurgitating what Mario actually said and what Joe Rose actually said.

Mario NEVER said we would get OJ back "at the end of the season".

Everyone is overreacting because @Trinton Breeze summarized Mario as saying something that Mario never said.

Fannnnntastic...
I didnt listen to the interview but am not surprised in the least bit at what you said lol

Bro, I’m not gonna get into the words people use when they’re in the middle of a press conference or interview. He clearly said The goal is to get him back by the end of the season and the end of the season is in the month of November. So if we can get him back by Notre Dame, then we have met that goal. I’m just happy he’s not done for the season and we will get him back eventually. I’m grateful for that.

Mario did not say "by the end of the season".

Joe Rose said "late in the season". Not "end of the season".

How do you reconcile Mario's comment about "hoping" he's back for the end of the season with expecting he'd be back for early November?

Easy. Mario did not say anything about "the end of the season".

Exact same thing I did snowboarding. It's been over 2 years with a year of rehab and not even close to healed. Throwing a ball is still really uncomfortable. I doubt he plays this season if that is what it is because he would likely have surgery and significant rehab timeline. Grade 2 we should see him again toward end of year.
