The fanbase is dying and slowly disappearing.

This one stings because hope has been dashed and optimism has been mocked. Many fans will tune out because this was a glimpse of what we can expect from Mario because it confirmed all of our worst fears.

It doesn't matter who we have at QB (Mario considered him the best in the country).
It doesn't matter who our OC is (an exciting pro guy who won the Broyles award replaced by an exciting young spread guy)
It doesn't matter how elite our OL is.
It doesn't matter how deep or talented we are at RB.
It doesn't matter that we have 3 or 4 reliable college football receivers that compliment each other well with strengths and weaknesses.
It doesn't matter if we have a great pass catching tight end or a great blocking tight end.

Methodical Mario will find a way to get into close/physical games against overmatched opponents that give our kids no margin for error and zero entertainment value. He LIVES for 17-14 type possession games. They're no fun for all of us. But for him, it's his identity. It's a thrill and the way the game is meant to be played.

And as long as he's our head coach, it'll be the identity of the Miami Hurricanes.

Sorry, but that's not worth spending money or time on for me.

Mario and great coach belongs in the same like Lizzo and healthy lifestyle does
We hired Larry Coker with the ability to recruit.

For $80 million.

It doesn’t matter if I paid attention or not to Mario when he was at Oregon to really understand how bad he was.

The people paid to make these decisions obviously didn’t do their homework.

Great man, great recruiter, genuine man who will hopefully get this program going in the right direction because of the talent he gets and we win 9 games only because of talent and then the next person can bring it home.

That’s all I am hoping for at this point.

People that think this is fixed with a transfer QB are out of their minds.

This runs much, much deeper than that. And it’s 100x more alarming than what I thought after GT/UVA.
100%.

Anybody that looks at Mario's history and still thinks this is just about a "broken quarterback" is delusional and prefers to bury their head in the sand rather than face reality.

Where we are right now is 100% because of the way Mario leads and wants his team to look.

One of the litmus tests is always to look at what happens to the program the coach left.

Oregon is far better under an aggressive coach who wants to take your soul.

As you say, Mario seems to want a methodical offense that controls the ball. You referenced the ‘87 Fiesta Bowl, and if you played a reply of this game to someone in 1987 they’d think it fit right into their style of play.

I think next game they need to line up a WR in a three-point stance to really drive it home.
When I saw Restrepo on the end of the line as a blocker I finally realized this is all just an elaborate troll job

I just kept picturing Dawson getting boozed up, drawing up plays on Tuesday night in his basement going:

“Those CiS ****ers. I’ll show em. Tell me I call plays for Restrepo too much. Wait till they get a load of this”
bahahaha, toss in the pass plays to Cam and dudes straight up diabolical.

Mario will do this every year. What a horrible hire he will turn out to be on the field
Y’all are buggin. As usual, the sky is falling and I get it. You have to look at the big picture. I mean the bighuge, catastrophically gargantuan picture.

We didn’t descend into mediocrity over night during the past two decades so it stands to reason, we won’t ascend into the higher realm of the football pantheon in two seasons either.

Here is where we stand:
we’ve massively upgraded OL play which was a major hindrance for 15+ years. Our defense is night and day better than it has been in the last 5 years. Legitimately, not just against G5 teams. We’ve started to make erodes in keeping talent home. Bain, Fletcher? They are the future and it’s bright.

What we have to do is sustain these changes and continue to progress in other areas which I am confident we will down the line. We have a QB problem. He have to get better at recruiting and developing QB’s or at least have a system the caters to their strengths. UGA had a QB problem and offensive scheme issue for years before they put it together.

At the beginning of the season, we said 8-4 was where we’d probably finish. We should be 7-2 sans a bad call. We’re still on track and in terms of long term success, we’re still on track. “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and neither was the U. It’s a process however, we’re making good process. We just have to temper expectations year to year. I believe we’re in good shape overall. Is Dawson a long term answer? I’m not sure. He’s bounced around for a reason but we’ll see. Is our DC? **** right! See, progress. Mario will get us there. I believe he’ll grow the most as a coach here at Miami.

Aite fellas, have a good week, as for me, it’s Tastyblacks time.

Peace

Zu.

I told everyone when he was hired he would rather run the ball in a boring offense of attrition and win by 3 than score 40 ppg and win by 14. He wants to be able to say “we were more physical than you” rather than “we were smarter or more creative than you”.

I went to a chicken stew last night with 100 people. Wore my U beanie. All the state fans there were just talking **** and I couldn't say ****. Bad enough my wife and brother in law are state grads.

But the mario bros think we are headed in the right direction.
It's rough out here. I had hope after that Tex A&M game...

I wanna cry like Caleb Williams right about now...

That NC State team is TERRIBLE. Idc what their record says. This is one of the worst losses in program history. Mario has me embarrassed to wear Miami gear in NC.

Bro. I'm in Richmond, VA. I got big *** Miami stickers in my back window on my SUV and Hurricane Club license plate. I contemplated taking all that **** off yesterday.

I pull up to 7-11, to get me a leaf, after the game and 2 old heads couldn't HELP but speak on the game and how inept our staff looked. Then they brought up GT game.

I'm like so yall don't think I get enough torture watching the **** team?

My face as they were talking:

My boys are age 5 and 3, I've bought them both a fleece UM zip up every Christmas since they've been born. They love anything with the U logo on it. I am skipping the Canes apparel this Christmas as I can't in good conscience let them wear Miami gear in public. I'll keep wearing it though as it is my cross to bear.

I can’t remember the last time Miami lost to Duke, UNC and State all in a row. I can’t go anywhere. Cheers to basketball season. Coach L got us 😂

I hate to break it you guys, but I don't think this years Miami Hurricanes are winning another game. Yeah, I said it. This offense is broken, and they have a quarterback thatr can't be fixed.

Tonight Miami lost to 20-6 versus the North Carolina State Wolf Pack, in what was a defensive slog for much of this contest at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, to drop to 6-3.

But here's the worst thing about watching this years 'Canes. They have become dreadfully boring to watch. Yeah, I can handle the wins and loses, that goes with being a fan. I get that. But as my laptops were on the Alabama-LSU and Washington-USC games, I kept thinking to myself,''Look at those fun and entertaining offenses."

Alright, maybe there was some bad defense invovled (after all, it was the Trojans I was watching) but what I saw from those four squads was wide-open and imaginative systems, that also employed some tempo. They went up-and-down the field consistently and produced points. Whether you are a fan of any of those programs didn't matter, they are fun to watch.

Under Mario the Methodical, it almost seems as though the goal is to win every game 17-13, while winning the time of possession battle every week. Is it just me or does our current offense under Shannon Dawson seem like it plays 10 yards at a gime. The big plays we saw in September as UM rolled up big points and yards seems like a decade ago.

Now, to be fair, they have quarterback with the yips, who is now a full-blown turnover machine. Tyler Van Dyke in September was performing at an extremely high level. But since that Georgia Tech game, he has been a guy that simply can't protect the football. Every game since that point with him starting has felt a bit like the infamous '87 Fiesta Bowl.

Yeah, think about that, a whole month full of that game.

The defense for much of the game was dominating the Wolf Pack. Going into the fourth quarter they had all of five second half yards. Miami was actually controlling the game, but simply could not produce points. As Mark Fletcher (who played a strong game) was stuffed on 4th and one near the NC State goal line, you got the sinking feeling that it was the begining of the end.

The defense would proceed to give up a 98 yard touchdown drive to make the score 17-6.

It felt insurmountable.

Because it was.

I'm just a fan, but in my view I think Van Dyke's run as the Miami starter should come to an end. Realistically, given the depth chart (which features a true freshman, and another player who wants to be redshirted) that probably isn't going to happen. But no matter whatr Cristobal will say to the media, the team has lost faith in TVD, and the fan base is certainly ready to move on without him.

Cristobal preaches about being physical. To a point where some mock him for it (fyzical!!!). On nights like this, it's hard to argue with those detractors.
Steve - let me ask you a question since you think we won’t win another game: that puts us at 6-6 and then 6-7 with a bowl loss.

Last year 5-7.

5-7 & 6-7 (hypothetical) and we go 7-5 next year a fireable offense if this team doesn’t come back next year and wins at least 9 games?

that's a great question, I do think at the very least the seat gets warm for Mario like one of those fancy Japanese toilet seats
