If he has a legit offer something doesn't make sense.

JUCO WR, we only lost DJ and not recruiting really any 2013 WR (besides Coley). Someone might be leaving the school.

We're also losing Thompkins.

Our best or 2nd best big receiver is currently suspended, so... there's that. His shakiness might be affecting recruiting a tinge.

I tend to believe something is up and that is the reason we're going after a JUCO but I hope it is just because he is an elite talent.

he's a juco but has 4 to play 3... basically he would come here as a true soph..

Scott will be fine.

I really think it's more of a case of what I talked about last week, that the coaches think this team can win big next year. While WR isn't necessarily a need, imagine adding a threat like this. There are some really good, solid receivers on this team, but this kid would just add another dimension to the offense that already looks like it will be ridiculous.

I hope this kid is simply an elite talent.

What Pete said, basically. We aren't in a position to reject a talent like this.

People gotta stop acting like we got All-Americans returning at Receiver. We don't even have a receiver who has made all-conference.

I see this kid more as a replacement for AJL. Ive repeated this throughout the season: our WR corps is very strong and deep but really lacks a #1 guy who can do it all. Rashawn Scott and Dorsett would be rediculous 2's and 3's. I dont think this has any impact at all on Coley.

Thanks. Good to hear.

Something is up? You're worrying about nothing.

Golden has already said Scott will rejoin the team in January. We're losing DJ and Thompkins to graduation and Lockhart tore his ACL (I think that was his injury) late in the season.

Exactly what I said (potentially an injury) earlier in the thread.

Dorsett almost made 2nd team all acc and if he didn't go into that 4 game funk he would of made it easily..

Can this be confirmed?

11/21/2012: Jaelen Strong tells 247Sports he is now a member of the 2014 class, not 2013.

Second team ACC is something to brag about?

Agreed, but the fact is that he did have that 4 game funk and it can't be ignored or swept under the rug.

Phil, like everyone else in a receiving core, has to take another step in his development. I'm not down for assuming that said development will take place and turning away talent that has proven he can dominate at a pretty good level.

Strong and Coley would make everyone take their game to another level or show their true selves.

Not necessarily. He would bring something to the table that we don't have, which is a big receiver (deep-threat too) with speed. Carter or Jones could develop into that, but they are still raw and need more work.

Carter and Jones will be ready there RS SO year...

Thats that inferiority complex popping up again, lol @ "almost" made 2nd team. Then wondering why we trying to get a stud receiver. The guys asking have you seen his film? Get as much talent as possible, we got a suspended wr, one coming off a dislocated ankle, and another torn acl. Also who is gonna turn down a 6'3 type who can run?

yea it is when your a true soph and first year starter with well over 800 yards rec when you were absent for 4 games in a row basically...

Miami picked up the top junior college tight end in the country last week in Beau Sandland, but the ‘Canes aren’t done trying to add offensive weapons from the JUCO ranks.

2013 Pierce C.C. WR Jaelen Strong (6’4”, 205) had an incredible season this year, as he racked up 67 catches for 1263 yards and 15 touchdowns. Strong recapped the team’s season and talked about his performance as well.

“The season went great, we went nine and two. I had one of my best years so it was a great season.”

Strong speaks with Miami Tight Ends coach Brennan Carroll and had high remarks about him.

“He is a definitely a nice guy. You can joke around with him and he is a cool guy. He has done a great job of recruiting me. He has been talking to me since before the season.”

Strong does have interest in Miami and happened to be a fan growing up.

“Miami has been a school that I have loved since I was young. I really didn’t expect to be talking to Miami right now. I also think they have a great future ahead of them.”

He wants to take a visit to Miami before he makes his decision.

“I do have an interest in taking a visit to Miami, I definitely want to take an official to Miami.”

While the JUCO receiver does currently live in California, he has no issue with the thought of playing in Miami.

“Distance won’t play a factor. I’m from Philadelphia and I went to a college out in California so it doesn’t matter.”

The JUCO receiver had the opportunity to play alongside Miami signee Beau Sandland.

“It was a one-of-a-kind experience. I probably will have another chance to play with him and maybe even in the NFL, but I know he is going to do great things at Miami.”

Strong wants to make his decision on signing day and knows what he wants when he picks a school.

“I just want somewhere where they can treat me like family. I need to know what type of offense they run whether it be pro or spread. Somewhere where I can play and I have to be comfortable with the coaching staff.”

The talented wide-out is also in contact with Texas Tech, Arizona State, Washington, South Carolina and Tennessee.
His highlight was very impressive, plus good size.
