C'mon... after a decade in sales you know that could be shtick just as well.

What else are they supposed to say to the kid knowing he's been on campus and no decision is imminent? I'm sure they tell all recruits the types of things that will make them successful people 'whether they decide to come to Miami or not'. That's the way you connect and build that "family bond", which is the right thing to do, while also advancing a more selfish agenda. A lot of sales is about selling the customer (recruit) on you as a salesman (coach), because they can buy whatever (sign) from anyone (anywhere).
I beg to differ.

Have you ever been in Sales? It does not sound like you have, at least not based upon your above response.

Either way, I don't want to hijack the thread with an irrelevant back and forth with you. We can simply agree to disagree.

This is the guy I want. Front-line talent that checks all the boxes.
Do you know if we are recruting Myles Bell or Semar Ace Melvin, a couple 6 foot plus corners from STA, two guys with legit P5 offers an I feel will blow up by seasons end especially if STA has the season I think they will have.

Give it a rest with this sales angle. ANYONE who grew up in South Florida unless they are mentally handicapped or living under a rock knows sales. That is all of South Florida. Everyone has a angle. I can spot bull**** in Turkmenistan from a mile away.

Richt and company have been saying the same thing to kids since they got here. This ain't new lol.

Like you need a PHD in sales to understand this stuff.

This dude and Huff were the two that jumped off the screen at me (aside from the obvious guys like MAR and Stevenson, etc) when I started watching HUDLs a few months ago. Hope we can find a way to bring him in the fold.

Don't think so.

I like Ace. He will be a good player for somebody.

Battle’s visit this week will be an OV.
Interesting. Does he plan on committing early? I know Richt was initially against Spring/Summer OV's.

If we're playing the OV card this early it makes me think we know we're far behind and are trying to make up ground in a hurry.

Battle Ohio St. OV is June 22nd. Every bone in my body is praying that after his Miami OV this weekend, 22nd gets nixed. Then we in.
That would be ideal but idk how realistic that really is. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that he takes his Ohio state OV and still picks us. A lot of it hinges on this weekend imo. Coaches really gotta hit it out of the park and show him why he fits here best.

To me this indicates that he’s gonna commit before the summer deadperiod one way or another. The staff knows this and is throwing in an OV before that to make sure that they did all they could.

I think they hope to prevent a commit while he is up at OSU. Give his parents enough to cause them to go home to discuss. Even though we burn an OV so does OSU. We have time and proximity in our favor maybe.

That’s what was said by some posters in 247 but I disagree. I think he’s gonna make a decision soon regardless and this is the only way we could stay in the game.

Kids from STA usually make decisions early on right before the season. It’s likely that is what the case is here.

This kid is definitely wanted at The U, I think Miami's chances are really good with him.. That South Florida Express team looking like a pipeline to Miami "make the crib great again"!!

I really think these kid's have sat down and had a talk and Miami sounds like the school that will benefit..

And they almost always stick with their commitment. Glad we are getting him in on OV but that OSU OV looming scares me.

Seems more like a last swing type for us. Never expected him in this class so if we pull it off great, if not, oh well.
