Do you understand the difference between Kirby and Richt?

Did Golden get the hype that came from being on Nick Saban's staff? Kirby likely made more money and was more well known as a DC than Golden was as a HC at Temple.

& Golden had a top 10 class in year 2....I'm not about to debate no BS about why it wasn't #1 overall.
Golden’s class in 2012 was more quantity over quality. He signed like 33 guys and 22 left early (Transfer, kicked off, attrition). Howard and The Duke were 5 stars so that’s why that class was ranked high. Also a top 150 recruit didn’t even make it on campus so you drop him and the class is not top 10.

You're changing the debate at every turn..I don't care about the semantics, other teams have players that don't make it in also so it's all the same...it was ranked top 10 in the country.

Again..Richt has nothing to sell...rival recruiters are killing him bc it's the same old thing going back 18 years now. Kirby sold a hope and a dream...he can still sell the fact that he has to get all of his guys on campus and continue winning big games.

Only 2 offensive linemen this cycle with Neal in the air and Bama there and now loosing a top defensive linemen Ingraham and being beaten out for a Georgia top DL.
Richt started off with a bang here but has been in a quagmire since and will continue until the program makes the next move upward.

Texas was terrible for countless years. Tom Herman 13-7 in his first two years. Texas had the number 3 ranked class last year. Winning helps but don't make it seem like a loss to UVA caused the kid to bail.

Tom Herman had custom grills made (lol). He's young, energetic & flashy. That sells to kids. He was a hot name, taking over a hot mess.. Richt is measured, limited & to be honest, a little stale. He's also working with an amateur staff.

Winning isn't an instant necessity. Kids might think Herman/Smart will win long term.. CMR is proven to be Captain 9-3.

The real problem is these kids are viewing the Canes as a Plan B. Not all kids - but in recent times, the top tier kids. Alabama, OSU, and UGA are all legitimate threats to flip any one of our recruits that they covet. Doesnt matter how long we've built a relationship - it doesnt take long for them to work their "magic". This is the sad reality. Accept and keep it moving.

The common denominator is Bama.

Unfortunately, that school does 80% of the work for him, he had to sell kids on UM.

All Kul did was get him to visit. Lupoi and Joe P. are the ones who recruited him. Saban finished the job.

Crazy thing is going thru their commits they have like 4 guys that play his same position and more targets on the board too if he actually gets to sign with them

https://247sports.com/college/alabama/Season/2019-Football/Targets/

We should invite all 20 of their DT commits on the same weekend. Don't care if they have zero interest, tell them its fine if they get a free trip. Get them all in a room and do the "Gee wiz, sure are a lot of you playing for the same position. How many DTs is Bama going to play on defense? Anyway, good luck to you all."

4-star DT Siaki Ika This kid is a stud. Watched him live in the backfield when East played my kids high school. Wasn't even fair even when they triple teamed him. He will be a hard get. The polynesian community is tight and most kids stay on the west coast ( unless they move their whole family to Alabama ) close to their families.

They have been doing this since they have gotten here ...and still dont get it. The minute Bama was involved they should have been geared up and turned up on some other DT's not sit there and do nothing waiting. Now there gonna throw hail mary's at out of state fantasies.

At this point im all in on Malcolm Ray...maybe we can flip him...he has excelled this year. He's probablya year or 2 development wise from playing inside...but he has the ability. The other listed in this thread are longshots.

Can Malcolm Ray get to 280-300lbs?

ok so fire him and hire someone else and lets go through another 3-4 years of rebuilding. that's the only other solution

Don't be melodramatic. We have options:

1) Venting on message boards
2) Fly banners to ease the pain
3) Hire an offensive coordinator

Honestly, the first two options might just get us to option three.

not specifically attacking your post, but I've seen a lot of complaints (rightfully so considering how bad the offense is) and that richt isn't the answer. my question is, IF he isnt the answer, who else do you want? I'm sick and tired of hiring and firing new coaches every 4 years only to be the same crap. im ready to give a dude time to get it right. richt should hire an OC or at least some support staff to help in that area bc its clear what the issues are .

And for every Gurvan Hall who picks us over Bama we make him sit behind a Robert Knowles who isn’t even close to the talent level he is

Nothing to do with my point, but since you brought it up...people forget that there's value in knowing where you're supposed to be and what you're supposed to be doing. Knowles has looked real bad, so I get your point about him in particular. But in general, it's not crazy for a coach to play a kid who knows what he's doing over a more talented kid who doesn't. There's more to winning than talent. Look at our QB situation.

Couple of things here:

1) how many current NFL DT’s are from the U? How many from Bama?

2) how many first rounders have we had in the last 10 years? how many has Bama?

3) what is Miami currently ranked? what is Bama?

4) who was fired from the SEC? Our coach or Bama’s?

5) Which school lets their kids essentially major in football, with zero class attendance needed? Which one has coaches following kids to class and has outrageous entrance requirements for football players?

6) what does Miami buy its players? what does Bama?

Until we act like a real elite program again, we will continue to fail.
Who are you fan of Miami or Bama?

We all know that Miami has to overcome a lot to get the elite of the elite despite being the hometown. The problem is we do very little to help our cause to prove that we are an elite program. For example, what we did last year to ND and VT was the perfect opportunity to show everyone that we are an elite program, and we were well on our way. But what did we follow that up with? Missed opportunity

So then we finally, after years of mid-level bowl games, go to a NY6 bowl, at home, against another OK program, and what do we do? Missed Opportunity.

But we have another chance. Ranked in the top 10, prime time game against a middle of the road SEC team (at least going into the season), and what do we Do?

These missed opportunities that are completely within our control is the reason why it's so easy for Bama, UGA, and really any decent program can come in to SFL and tell these kids and their families that elite players need to play for elite programs. Miami's not that, and it's our fault.

Osu to offer a kid late and get away with it. Bama can have a loaded depth chart and still get kids. Why? Because they've proven to be elite.

miami will always have issues with the elite kids in SFL no matter what, imo. like the 247 article says, miami is that GF that will be around at home. we can't treat kids the way others do by offering late, not accepting commitments, etc and not face repercussions bc were the local school.

Bama don't lose to teams like Virginia.
They lost to Auburn who lost to LSU who lost to Troy. Bama is a tank I know I'm just grasping at straws here but it's kind of fun to say whatever we want on an internet message board.
