I wanna see what Garcia does at STA this year. I LOVE Wingo too though. Im surprised he flipped to UF. Man i wanna stump a hole in them...and see if he can be flipped too (doubt it). lol
I would take Cave, Hyppolite and Flagg over Wingo.

Need LBs with instincts for our scheme to replace Shaq and Pink.

The rush end tweener LBs work better in a 3-4 as an OLB or viper.

The irony in all this is last year, maybe around Oct, Nov, as the early signing date was approaching, there were people arguing "We don't need no stupid LBs. With the striker position, only two can see the field at the same time".

Now, here we are.

Last cycle was pretty bad for LBs.

This year is better, next year should be even better.

The thing is we have 4 Sr LBs to sell kids on, and we still aren’t landing the big fish.

Did you play with a few other div 1 prospects on your defense as well?. Usually kids playing on teams with a bunch of div 1 prospects dont put up huge numbers as other guys are making plays as well.

He's a BEAST regardless...He is likely faster than every skill position guy we have committed right now. .....AT 225 POUNDS and growing. He also is a smart football player. He should be made a priority in this class. Maryland has done a great job with him though recruiting wise.
Hes not faster than Chaney or Fleming

I have no idea why Miami's staff was late to the bus on this kid. He checks all the boxes at LB. I'm usually not uber critical of their recruiting decisions but they really dropped the ball if this kid ends up at Maryland of all places.

The fact that staff slow played him early lets me know we have an incompetent staff on Offense and Defense. He is literally the best LB in the state of Florida... I've said it once and I'll say it 99 more times the BEST LB IN THE STATE. They were too busy chasing kids from other areas should've locked him up first. He can run in space, tackle, and he's a dog. The South Florida Special.
I dont think he is the best linebacker in the state. He is the most athletic linebacker in the state but the linebacker class down here isnt bad with Wingo and Mccluster likely leading the way as well as Keyshawn Greene who is a very good looking prospect.

Is offering him in April in his junior year late?
April, after he finished his junior year of football? For a local kid? At a position of need? Yeah. I understand we can't just jump on every kid but LB is a huge need this year and a kid playing locally should have been on the radar long ago.

Not at all true. Last year's linebacker class in Florida was stacked. Rian Davis, Diwun Black, Gemon Eaford, Jaleel Mccrae, Avery Huff, Anthony Solomon, Sam Brooks, Mikel Jones, Marcus Tillman, Cortez Andrews, Jahmar Brown, Jessiah Pierre and on and on and on

I call bs on that fam its not like he wasnt in Miami the last 3 yrs as the DC. Manny had more than enough time to evaluate him. Its got to be something else bro.
You gotta remember when Manny was DC, this kid was in the 8th, 9th, 10th, and now 11th grade. I doubt he was standing out like that and he’s still a 3 star now.

The only ones off that list I really liked were Huff, Davis (got bagged), Solomon, and Pierre (****) as true LBs, and we had all except for Davis at one point.

Sam Brooks is my favorite of the Rush End tweeners that we have landed with this staff over the years even though we haven’t had luck with them making the transition to an every down impact LB.

So yes, last year was better than I made it seem, but I personally like Cave and Hyppolite more than all those guys other than Huff and Davis, and I love Flagg’s instincts and think he will be a bad *** for us.

I never get into the Rush End guys who have never played LB but are projected there b/c they are too small to play DE as they usually take years to make an impact as a back up.

This year nationally the LBs were just off the charts with guys like Flowe and one of my favorites Josh White, Sampah etc... but you are right, last year was probably a better local crop.

We definitely shouldn’t have slow played Hyppolite, that was pretty dumb.

And what about this guy.

I'm not saying that he's a take but you can't get anymore local than South Miami high. Last month, we extend him an offer and try to get a visit. Others look at his highlights and say he's or size and skills. Then today it's announced he's committed to Georgia Tech. He's obviously been quietly on their radar screen for some time.

Either we didn't know about him only a mile down Miller Road or we were too busy chasing 5*s.

So if he wasnt standing out why rush an offer lol

Why you love Wingo? At LB?

He's 6'2 220, Has good coverage ability, recognition. And wants to be real good a leader type. He has played multiple positions and is flexible.
Plays on the best program in florida year to year. I dont know alot of reason's. He and Hyppolite are the best in south florida.

This is my question with Hyppolite being in our backyard and the coaches can watch him anytime they want to. Why would they make a Tampa, Houston, Camden kid who are also 3*(for the * whores) a priority?

Tbh i like the kid but i dont think Manny and company are as high on the kid as much as CIS. Shoot they jumped on Huff real fast and made him a priority i dont think thats the case with Hyp something doesnt add up.

I dont know man...the current staff arent the best LB evaluators. Manny historically isnt the best...we shall see. They made others more of a priority earlier as alot of the guys were in that East vs West junior game (Florida) that they either saw or scouted. Then they doubled back. They focused out of state more earlier. When they double backed early int he spring..what do you know there is a 6'0 225 pd kid tearing up camps. Then they offered.

We are/were in play with alot of big timers at LB like Flowe, Simpson (Nc) the board is constanly changing. A lot of guys they were in on early i never liked much like Mccluster for example. Last year they were all over 6'0 180 pd Solomon...im constantly confused on their recruiting. I loved the Huff and Brooks takes though

Probably bc they have to find out where kids go to school now since they transfer 20 times in high school now. Then they have to evaluate 1000 kids, it’s kinda not easy, especially after taking over in January basically, hiring a new recruiting department, a new DC, as well as new offensive staff. They were still trying to salvage 19 class too.

Well said. I think salvaging the '19 class (and assembling a staff) was the priority.
