Film Review: QB Tyler Van Dyke

If you want to question the competition that TVD plays against, that is 100% understandable. However, for you to say that the throws he is making and ball placement aren't impressive is silly. There are a bunch of off balance, touch, velocity, and perfect ball placement throws in his film. You can still like Garcia better as that is your preference but don't be ridiculous
There is so little film of TVD to really get excited. Are those cherry picked clips? Now, Garcia balled out in Cali and then against top competition in Georgia. I think TVD is more like Evan Sheriffs and Garcia more like Joe Namath. We'll see.

All highlights are cherry picked including Garcia's. Why it is called highlights. I do not care which one steps up as long as one of them does.

Agree, about not caring who takes us to the promised land. If it's TVD fantastic, I was wrong! Garcia's highlights are actually the norm. He was completing at close to 70 and what you didn't see in the Georgia film were his receivers dropping, running the wrong routes or poor routes. During playoffs he threw a 40 yard dime into the end zone and his receiver dropped it.

So, Garcia played in GA against the best competition in world, won state title, yet he played with lousy receivers? funny.

Well no. When you only have a week of practice with each other it's hard to get on the same page.

great breakdown. thank you.

really excited to see the kid continue to develop. anybody who watches that film, and listens to the comments from his teammates who isn't jacked about this kid's potential, just doesn't understand QB's

let me put it like this.

From a pure talent and upside perspective, TVD is a better prospect than anyone we faced last season with the exception of trevor lawrence. yes, that includes sam howell, who is better than TVD now, as he is more developed. but TVD is equal to the kid in upside. flat out.

yeah, i said it! and i'll invite anyone to look at those clips and point out to me why i'm wrong.

he needs to stay healthy, continue to work, and have some luck. but this is a kid with Sunday potential. going to be interesting to see him compete against garcia.
Better prospect that Sam Howell?(not a knock on tvd because Howell is elite but still) 🤣lol come on man. Y’all can’t just say anything on here

Tvd and Garcia arm strength are closer than I thought. Tvd reportedly was good in practice last season and he’s a **** good prospect in his own right. And I definitely like how Garcia was determined to play his senior year and did so while playing elite competition at not 1 but 2 powerhouse programs in Georgia which obviously says a lot about him. As I mentioned before he has better arm talent than what was previously assumed plus he fits Miami and with the multiple personalities in the lockerroom. Excited about both guys

i don't bandy hyperbole. personally, i think they are equivalent in upside. and clearly, i stated that howell is better. will TVD get there? he can, is my point. will he? don't know.

Garcia's arm is just fine, but look at how effortlessly TVD slings the ball down the field. I see TVD as a next level arm talent, while Garcia has enough to get the job done. It will come down to who runs the O the best. It's not always the dude with the strongest arm. I remember when Bernie won the starting job. He did not have the strongest arm on the team, but he had everything else going for him. I'm not saying Garcia is Kosar, just pointing out that intangibles often beat out pure arm talent.

It will be a fun spring.

Looks like TVD is making noise early in spring! Not surprised at all this thread depicts the same skillsets that teammates are raving about!
I was glad to hear tvd say in post practice interview today that he regularly goes into the building twice daily even when only once a daily is adequate. Kid seems like he's serious about his craft & its a welcome sight.

Maybe we found our tom BRADY. just like drew bledsoe when he got injured. Not hoping for that but who knows?

Big Ben, Allen from Buffalo Bills, Wentz from Philadelphia all played as bad or worse competition in highschool. I think their WRs being slower, and creating less separation actually makes these smaller school guys more accurate in the long run.
Good Point.

We shall see. No blinders here I hope.

Told everyone TVDs the real deal....All I kept hearing was Garcia this...Garcia That.....TVD has it all....Watch and see....
