Care to provide the cliff notes? I don’t have the app
A couple weeks ago AI said he thought Kosi was a lock for the job but now he thinks it's Tate. Said when he speaks to the players off the record, Tate's name comes up the most.

Jon Ford is in for a big year.

No one would be surprised if Cam Davis starts and DJ plays the sidekick role like he did with Homer last year.

Give it a listen. The pod that D$ dropped says some things that I thought were a lot more interesting.

I’m not calling anyone out or going to discuss this in detail, but Enos LOVES Tate. He’s literally on his hip constantly. He’s the smartest quarterback in the building. He’s put the work in to earn the starting job if they believe he’s the best one for the job. The coaching staff loves his work ethic and tenacity. Anyone who says differently has an agenda. That’s coming directly from the mouths of the staff first person. The starter hasn’t been decided, but to say ANYTHING negative about how the staff “feels” about Tate is bullsh*t.

Tate is a 5’9” maybe 5’10” inch QB with limited throwing ability.... I don’t think he has a shot to win the job but hey I’ll root for him if he does.

So does everyone suck again? Unclear from the past 8 pages of schmegma

If you don't say that Tate is the front runner then you are forced to pretend like you think everybody sucks or is average.

So it’s up to you.

You get porsters attempting to sound like confident and authoritative insiders saying stuff like, “He’s put the work in to earn the starting job if they believe he’s the man for the job.”

That statement holds true for any of the QBs. IF the coach believes you’re the man for the job, you probably worked to earn it. I guarantee they wouldn’t roll N’Kosi out there looking like last season.

That’s good info.

Which podcast did he mention N’Kosi was locked in as the starter?

He was probably dropping good info in that one. I’d like to hear it.

Excited about Jon Ford too.

I take your point, and agree. Unfortunately for N'kosi, he's the only one we've really seen in action and what we saw wasn't pretty.

We saw him under a coach that was way past his prime and shouldn’t have been calling plays. What about the son that didn’t deserve the job in the first place and still doesn’t have a job at any level of football. It seems that N’kosi respects and is listening to the guy coaching him now. I don’t think he felt that way about CMR or Jr....can you honestly blame him? The coaches on our schedule get paid too and it didn't exactly take a rocket scientist to figure our 4 verts and hb dive. Does that sound like an environment that would lead to success to you?

How easy it is for a man to get lost in the sauce. I think it's tough to discern which quarterback is best when all judgments are based off of reports from the braintrust that is South Florida media who only get to see minimal amounts of practice.

It gets even trickier because the quarterbacks are "stylistically" different, we have an urban Meyer style, read option qb in Tate, a poor man's gunslinger in Mandingo, and a more traditional pro style guy in Williams. So quite literally we have people who don't know what they're talking about comparing apples to oranges.

But lil ****y said it best, why can't fruit be compared?

Ivins sounds like the prototype porster.

If Ivins ever said once publicly (via twitter or elsewhere) that he was hearing N'Kosi was a lock a couple of weeks ago, I'll give him credit as a real journalist. It seems like he had to wait until he could say that "he's hearing its Tate" before he even acknowledged that he was hearing anything good about Kosi. He's pandering to those people who'll jump off a bridge if Tate doesn't win.

I'm sure the play calling will be greatly improved this season but ... my mind keeps going back to that Charlottesville performance. N'kosi was a living nightmare. If you want to give the Richt's all the blame, be my guest.

That’s the pessimistic mopey approach. It’s just as likely that we have 2 or 3 pretty evenly matched good options.

Why do some of you guys think that the QB race still being tight means that all the QBs suck? I just don’t get how you guys always find a way to put a negative spin on everything.
I think its a 50-50 shot that none of these three is the answer. How is that mopey? Just an opinion. I doubt there are many UM fans that are convinced at this point we have found the guy who can lead us back to glory.

Does your mind ever go back to when he brought us back against FSU?

He didn't say he was hearing. It was just his opinion. He said now, being around the team, he gets the feeling that it's Tate's job to lose.

It's all on the 5 Rings podcast. AI and Divid Lake are both on there.

My bad. I misquoted but the point still remains. He didn't openly state when he felt that Kosi was a lock because it wasn't popular opinion. He can only now say that he felt/thought (past tense) Kosi was a lock but now he feels/thinks (present) Tate is. I was just pointing out the inconsistency in how this is being covered and reported.

Man it’s a dumb argument to have at this point. Scrimmage is Sunday and well likely have a starter by the end of next weekend based on timeline. As long as they’re all given a fair shot, which has been the case, the pretend insiders dont matter.
