Where is the alternative for Herbert then? Because Campbell looked far worse in the spring game and got whipped by the speed rush too. Hopefully herbert takes that next step. If he doesn’t , assuming Nelson starts at left tackle we can possibly move scaife to right tackle and put Cleveland reed as the starting right guard
Scaife would be a much better RT than Herbert. Then plug Reed or Hillary into that G spot.

How do you measure that during off season Summer workouts that don't involve coaches?

I don't recall that direct quote. Maybe they made multiple quotes. What I do recall is that they said whomever works the hardest and improves themselves will separate themselves in Fall camp.
You just answered your own dilemma..

So, your telling me every position was decided that way or just QB?

Amazing how all the other positions were the guys we expected to start because they earned it over the Summer right? Where's the 2nd and 3rd team guys rolling with the ones? None of them worked any harder than the other guys at their position?
You seem to have a huge issue with Tate getting the starting nod in the first practice.

Spoiler alert: it doesn’t matter who started the first practice. The best QB will win, relax.

Manny has team leaders and captains holding other players accountable. If coaches are not directly involved it doesn't mean they don't get feedback from them or perhaps "quality contol" guys on staff that are not listed as "coaches" but are extension of the coaches. If you think summer work is a bunch of guys on their own playing pick up games and freelancing you are pretty naive.

Dude, let it go. It was the first practice. Things can and will change a bit over the coming weeks. Never seen anyone so **** bent on a first practice line up.

No. What you do in the Summer prepare you for Fall camp. You separate yourself "in" Fall camp based on what you do in the Summer. So, you get the promotion in the Fall camp after your Fall camp performance validates the hard work you put in the Summer.

It doesn't when the HC coach says you've taken the 1st step.

@KG305 you can disagree all you want. Just post sources saying Nkosi said he would transfer.

Sign that dude and watch him have a nice NFL career. I remember him abusing some really hyped kids in HS. Dopey fans don’t think he can play because he’s white and came in as a walk on.
Few definitely is more athletic but maybe he can be our hunter refrow in the sense of starting off as a walk on and then turning into a key piece of the offense

It organized by the players.

Really. Everyone including CIS and other media seem to he making a big deal out of it

Dude, no way in **** do you leave the starter with just a week to work with the 1s to prepare for the turds. I agree they need to get enough reps each but we need a starter locked in ASAP

i dont think any coach is ready to a name a starter asap and we saw yesterday, none of the 3 even remotely separated themselves to a point where you should name them a starter. all had their ups and downs

It was widely reported that Williams was contemplating transferring. Can’t remember if Kosi was involved in transfer rumors, but he did his fair share a ******* up last season.

I'm not saying now, I agree with you but we can't afford to wait with the turds coming right out of the gate. QB1 has to have chemistry with the rest of the 1st team, as well as Enos implementing the offense with that QB as much and as in depth as possible.

How does that refute anything I said in my post?

Also, if coaches are not involved at all, how do they know who is organizing what, when, and where? Someone has to be assigned to make sure these guys are following through on what they are being asked to do.

when a former player who was a friend of a friend (he was on the fins for a bit and played under golden from the space coast area) was on the team, he'd tell us that they'd get the tapes for upcoming games like 2 weeks in advance (big games) and if its like BCU they'd get two tapes (1 for BCU and 1 for the following weeks game) and coaches would tell them to focus more on the bigger game. i imagine they've been prepping for UF for a while now tbh (at least the QBs in what they'll see, what to expect, etc). my biggest concern is the OL from the mckinnie and romberg reports. they worked w them 1 on 1 and they were lost as all ****.
