Right just needs time to get his players in the system.

he has been bad all kidding aside.

he isn't playing with a full deck. we are down a lot of schoolies right now. again richt has been bad. but for the love of ****ing, we are short a lot of players . . . and we do not have many quality OL. it does make a difference.

Dude just stop you're better than this.

Do you guys even hear yourself with the excuses? It's the same thing many did with the other 3 regimes. When something smells like **** from the beginning...guess what....it's usually ****.

The play calling has been the #1 biggest problem so far this season. We've wasted a ton of plays and downs, and left a ton of yardage and points on the field as a result.

Didnt mean to down vote. That said....he is not better than this......execution is poor and I think the biggest problem with the play calling is giving Kaaya the RPO.....he is not making good calls and checks at the line

Kaaya is not good at anything that doesn't resemble flag football.

It's the fvckin sad truth.

I don't disagree with the analysis that CMR has been bad.

It is undeniable though, we are playing with 75 ships. Then Bruce has been hurt/kicked off, Cager hurt before season, Gray hurt before season. That is essentially 72 ships. Come on, it makes a difference.

We played with a nearly fully health team against FSU. Today, the guys we lost were on defense and we pitched a 2nd half shutout when they went out. We have not lost these two games because of these reasons. Now, we may lose our next 2-3 because of depth issues. It's not an excuse for what we've seen so far, I think.

LU-

You are a reasonable person. On these boards everything is black and white. CMR sucks. CMR can't call plays. BK sucks. He shouldn't be playing. The frustration from the other posters is warranted and valid. It is the degree of ****iness that I take exception to. If we were on probation and limited to 75 ships we wouldn't excuse the play calling or play by the offense. It was terrible.

BUT being at 75 ships does affect us. It looks like BK throws to 3-4 guys, another wr or two would help. I think having a legit 2 more quality OL help us significantly. And LU, we may be relatively healthy . . . but we are operating with 72 ship kids. That is a disadvantage.

“Life goes on,” Richt said. “We’ve got to get back to work.”
“Got to make something happen,” said Kaaya
“That kind of sparked us,” said Richt, who evaluated Kaaya’s performance as “pretty good, not perfect.
“I know he’s smart, he’s tough, he cares. He’s an outstanding leader. He’s hurting as bad as anybody because we didn’t win.”
“You have to have all 11 guys doing the right thing,” said Kaaya, who said he too needs to play better

**** article. Richt with his rpo garbage, kaaya and the Online are the reason this team is failing.

My point exactly, and that RPO **** would work better if Kaaya could run as well. We need to spread this team out hit some crossing routes, go deep and run some Power I as well. I saw that we had a few plays out of power I that I really liked. Those are the plays that Kaaya hit both Herndon and Njoku. But Richt has to see that teams catch on to the run pass option plays. That's why its so hard for us to score in the later half of the games.

6 games in and people giving up on Richt, like he was going to take us to the playoffs in his first season...hilarious. Cane fans are so delusional. Of course I'm disappointed but unlike everybody else I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The light is the reflection of the "shiny new toy" that is the new coach. For those of us who actually remember Coker, Randy, and Al Golden, we know that there are clear warning signs of a Corch, and Richt is putting them on display. His side of the ball is terrible. His players have regressed. The team looks scared, flat, and bored. The FSU loss hungover. His coaching staff is a hodgepodge of a few Miami level coaches mixed with several complete amateurs, including his son the QB coach who can't help our junior QB for crap.

I also don't understand why folks think Richt is going to be better here than he was at UGA. I'd love the explanation on that.

6 games...

Same team that got their *** whooped UNC last year. Richt is overhauling a team that got treated like a division 2 squad on multiple occasions. New offense, New defense.......cmon people this is common sense. Rome wasn't built in a day. People keep downplaying his UGA days like the Bulldogs were scrubs. Competed at a high level in a conference that ran college football during his time there, pls wake up people. Anyway Cane fans are so fickle, after we beat ND fans will start a GoFundMe to build Richt a statue. Harbaugh lost to Utah first game last yr. Michigan prob should've fired him. Goodnight

I still put a lot of the blame on Golden, but the rest on Oline and play calling. It appears we run the same plays over and over again game after game. How hard is it to defend if you know what is coming? Richt is a good coach, but he needs a OC. Look at all the top teams that are killing it this year. They all have dedicated OC's, **** Alabama has a offensive analyst, whatever the Fock that is. I hope Richt isn't just using us as a retirement check and really puts his heart and soul into this program and does the right thing. I'm ******* tired of saying "maybe next year" after less than half a season every year.

Yup, nevermind that this team beat the **** out of
us last year with a much worse QB.

This website is full of the I need it now generation. You don't think a seasoned coach in Richt knows what they're trying isn't working but the braintrust here only sees it? GTFO with that ****....bunch of malcontent morons.

Am I wrong?

Richt is a CEO. I love him in that role. He needs to get an OC this off season & drop play calling duties. End of story.

Mark Richt is quite seasoned in the art of the 10-win-and-a-bed**** season. That will get him run out of town here, where he wont have SEC booster money to help him recruit and buy assistants to cover up his weaknesses.

WAIT THERE'S MORE.....

-I asked Richt on Tuesday if he needed to do more to maximize David Njoku. Richt said no at the time, but he was clearly a bigger part of the game plan today.

-Kaaya, on the late strip sack: “The guy hit me from behind. The ball was slippery.”... Kaaya said “I could have gotten [Njoku] more times.”... Kaaya, on WQAM: “Guys have to do the right thing when it matters. It starts with me. You can’t have guys doing their own things. Guys have to know the route and the protection and the signal. It starts with me. [The defense] is playing their hearts out. We have to come through for them.”

-Center Nick Linder, on WQAM: “We came out too slow. We need to keep running the ball and establishing our dominance up front. We’ve got to get better at that. Physical play is what we need. We can’t have three and outs. That can stall a whole quarter. That last [strip sack] defines us, will ***** the whole deal.”

MY MY MY....WHAT A HOT A$$ MESS

I agree with the write-up especially AFTER I settled down and thought through the game again We lack depth/quality on the O-line and Coach needs to protect Kaaya from getting destroyed Easy to forget that many of these frosh and inexperienced players are still learning to play at the speed of the game at this level. We are SOOOOOO lucky that our defensive newcomers have surpassed expectations and blossomed in Diaz' defensive scheme. Give this coaching staff another class and experienced returners and next year will be great. I'm ecstatic to see our team play passionate football again! Our O may be boring but our D sure isn't. Be patient

He averaged 10 wins in the SEC. I know people hate to admit this but for the last 10 plus years, the SEC has been by far the best conference. 5 star talent scattered all over the conference on every team except Vanderbilt. To be considered 2nd best coach to only Saban in the Conference is pretty major. My dude that said he should just be CEO...UGA was better when he was calling plays. Bobo was decent though. Cane fans just need to practice patience. Acting like single women in their thirties, expecting marriage after the first date.

Wait but this makes no sense;

"UGA was better when Richt was calling plays".....yet now that Richt is calling plays, our offense is Pat Nix level bad.

Second of all, I dont want to hear about the SEC being some indomitable conference. Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. That was the SEC. The rest is nonsense overrated bs. Ole Miss, Vandy, Arky, Bama, Kentucky, MSU were all horrible in the early 2000s when he had his best years.

Why do we need patience for a coach with a 15 year track record at an unlimited resource school where he failed to win big? Why will things be better for him just bc his jacket has a U on it?

This team, its improvements and regressions, are ALL on Coach Mark Richt.

Richt should get credit for hiring a solid defensive staff. The group lost three of their best players to the rental car scandal and is starting three true freshman at LB. The defense has exceeded expectations, in my opinion. So far, anyway.

Richt should get the blame for the offensive struggles. This is HIS offense he is asking Kaaya and the rest of the unit of play. He chose to call the plays rather than hire an experienced offensive coordinator.

The offensive woes have only gotten worse since Miami started playing real teams. The problems isn't the offense moving the ball and scoring but a few unlucky breaks or bounces here and there. For the second consecutive week the offense could not consistently move the ball against a team surrendering 30+ points per game. Richt has generated a total of 32 points in those two games.

Even with the the sorry offense showing, Kaaya missed two TDs

I love richt as a person n HC, but the play calling is terrrible. Reminds me a lot of Dnofrio and needing the right players for his system. U adjust to the players u have. The offensive line is bad no doubt, but u need to put bed in shotgun and throw down the field and down the seams. AND BEFORE U BLAME Kaaya. At least let him have Game with 3 interceptions. He hasn't even had a terrible game yet. Richt is handcuff ingredients him in a 10 years box. This is bad. No changes were made from the FSU game.

Article is trash. We are forcing this RPO. Line Kaaya up let him throw down field. Before u blame him at least let him throw 3 interceptions in a game. He's being handcuffed in a 10 yard box.
