The side fun about a thread like this is that no matter what happens this is getting bumped in a couple years, as an I told you so from one side or another. Here is to hoping we are a ten win team and nobody can be bothered to remember as we head into the B1G or SEC championship game in our Jordan brand merch boys.

Aside from Kayvon, how many of his DL were NFL guys?
I’m talking about building a physical, competitive team. I’m not going to throw around fake numbers that I haven’t researched, not that guy. I think we can agree on the fact that Mario built a winner on both sides of the line of scrimmage at Oregon.

I’m simply saying that we should trust that he’ll do the same at UM. I’m not saying that Russell will be C. Kancey but if he can be anything close to B. Dorlus I think we’d all agree that it is a win.

No…just no.

I don’t care if he was defensive player of the year. He’s going to be going up against other players of the year from their states and you can see a total difference in athleticism. The size isn’t even the concern. We’re in a different era where stuff like that have taken a step back but the athleticism isn’t there for the type of football we’re trying to play.

Prove me wrong kid. I hope you do. I just don’t see it.
Got to trust JT and Zo on this one. If we get the other expected DT’s and DE’s then this is definitely a no brainer take. Some tweener recruits you just have to defer to the staff. Actually these are the recruits they actually earn their money and reputation on.

Interesting take considering all the talk about “multiple 5 star DT’s” are all but guaranteed to be in this class. They must think he has massive upside.
Well assuming 5* DT commits to us it’ll be 1 idk if we get 2. It’ll be 1 5* Jackson and this kid I think.

He plays defensive end. Go watch his film at least.

I think this tells us (again) that we are looking to take a BIG *** DL class. Let's say we get visits from say, eight 4 or 5-star DL and hit on three of them. Or ****, let's be generous, lets say we get 10 visits and hit on four of them. Those are very, very successful hit rates.

What if we want to take say, 6-8 DL? There has been unconfirmed talk that we want 4 DT's alone.

If they like this kid, if they think he will be a valuable addition to the program, then we're pretty much talking about him only having to be the 8th best DL or worse we can land before it becomes a mistake. We want numbers. We NEED numbers. There is no way we're getting enough highly ranked (ugh) prospects to fill a massive class like this. Think of him as Frankie or Tripp.

It's crazy to watch how triggered some people get here. Just zoom out and give it a think and there is usually a way to make sense of it all.
Nobodys triggered. Just expressing their opinion that he isn't a UM caliber take.

Welcome to the U.

I posted back on Wednesday he was going to commit and he’s bigger than media was reporting.

High motor, productive, feeder school, raises the floor in case some of the targets don’t get onboard, has relationships with teammates we want.

There are a lot of positives. I will say again, I was told directly, “staff likes him.”
Another trusted poster said he isn't even 6'1". Which one is it lmao

I’m ok with the take if he’s our 4th or 5th DL in this class.

He’s a similar body type to Bain but the comparison stops there. Right now he’s a Tweener who should probably be playing DT at the next level.
