Briggs, who possesses additional offers from Florida State, Miami (Fl), Oregon, Kentucky and Louisville among others, has yet to dish out an official list of top schools, but admits the trio of in-state suitors hold the advantage heading into the summer.

"I'm still open, but really, I'm not focusing on them but those three schools (Florida, Miami and Florida State) do have the edge," Briggs said. "I'm definitely open."

Tagged as the nation's 64th-ranked defensive end, Briggs has journeyed up to Florida's campus on multiple occasions in the past, and is now manufacturing the tight-knit relationships needed in order to take everything a step further.

"It's big," Briggs said. "Growing up being a Florida boy and watching all the Florida teams on TV, it's big to be recruited by them. I know the Gators have great academics and always have great athletic programs. I know coach Mac has been there the past three years as well.

"I have a good relationship with (defensive line) coach (Chris) Rumph, and I actually started talking with (defensive coordinator) coach (Randy) Shannon about two months before they offered, so we've been building up that relationship as well.

"I also got to talk with (offensive line) coach Brad Davis two weeks ago. I got to know him and what he's about, and we're starting to build that relationship now."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound junior does not have any immediate plans to travel up to Gainesville, but dishes out a flurry of visit destinations for once school is out for the summertime.

"I'm not in any rush to get up there right now because I've already been there twice," Briggs said of Florida. "I'm trying to get up to NC State, Ohio State, Indiana and Tennessee. "Florida is definitely going to be later in the summer."

Briggs is going back and forth in regards to his decision timeline, but hopes to reveal his decision at some point during the 2017 season.

lol

Is he worth all the drama?

Briggs has the frame to 40lbs over the next 2 years and become a quality athletic 3tech as a redshirt freshmen. He is developmental player that projects very well inside.
