Coaching Staff Update: 1/9

Since the offseason began, the coaching staff situation has been pretty volatile with multiple moves expected after a poor year. Now that Rhett Lashlee is in place at OC, there seems to be a little more clarity on the offensive side of the ball. For one, I’m hearing from a strong program source that Butch Barry is out as OL coach. The other name that had been brought up a ton as one that had been on the chopping block was WR coach Taylor Stubblefield, but I’m told he is being retained.

As I said last week, the rest of the staff on both offense and defense are safe. I would expect an announcement on Barry in the next few days and some OL coaching names to emerge soon after.

Only 9 more months of this staff unless Lashlee sets the world on fire and Diaz becomes a different coach.

They gonna play the Enos and Barry were the problem

lol tryna figure out what is the reason for Stubblefield to be fired... cuz a poster ont he board said so?. We have 3 wrs landed in the 1 cycle he has had. Rumph hasnt landed 3 cbs in like 5 years and yall forever on here caping for him.

I wouldve preferred for a new ol coach, and to scrap the db coaches and patke

Serious Question...

What did Stubblefield do that was so bad he should be fired? We're our WRs not getting open? Did they not improve from last year? Did he fail in recruiting. Was two All American WRs and Restrepo a bad haul?

Only reason for Stubblefield to fired is because he should have never been hired here in the first place. He's an Enos guy so we all assumed he'd be going with him. The guy brings nothing to the table. Average coach, average recruiter.

It's a strange case to be sure. He did his job and recruited well.

But he has zero traction down here and isn't highly thought of locally.

I cant say he should be fired, but get used to a bunch of OOS WRs, which could be a good thing or a bad thing tbh.

I think we finally have a good majority done with Rumph now.
The only reason people stayed with Rumph all this time was because of Adrian colbert’s NFL success and him crediting the staff.
But we are years removed from that so now folks are like what have you done for me lately.
Not sure some (me included) will ever get over losing Campbell.

We didn't make minimal changes. Firing and bringing in a New OC is as big as change you can make outside of a new Head Coach

Stubbs was able to land Redding who in my opinion is probably one of the most important gets for us in awhile. The guy fits the mold of DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson which we haven't had in a very long time. Even AR wasn't this type of wr...he was more of an amari Cooper to me.

I'm good with stubbs staying on 1 more.

Barry going is probably for the best because there was obvious repeated mistakes in technique in OL.

I'm guessing your hoping for that. I really don't understand wtf is wrong with this fan base. Instead of supporting your team and HC and hoping he bounces back and we start winning you want to see him fail so you can say I told you so.

The same way you feel about Rumph now is how you'll feel about Stubbs come this time next year.
